Geanakuc is my first 5" build and it's designed to be durable and noob proof.
The frame is the famous Armattan Chamaleon Ti, choosen for the lifetime warranty, i think i'll use that more than once in my first months of flying (it's been more than one year, and, knocking wood, i've not used it yet...).
The camera is the Tarsier, choosen for the night vision capabilities, useful to fly after work when it's getting dark already and of course because it has 4k, so i don't have to carry a gopro (and spend on a gopro). Video quality might not be superb, but neither will be my flying, so nothing lost there...
FC+ESC+VTX+Motors are in the mid-range for price and quality, didn't want something that is already old but at the same time didn't want it to be super expensive to replace, especially the motors, as i think i might break a few.
I wanted to add GPS too as i'm not confident with video and control range yet, so having something that will prevent me from losing the kwad, whether it's fly-away or drop to the ground, for just 10€ it's a bargain.

It has bee a tight build, despite i pictured the chamaleon in my head as a large frame, it's really tiny. The max stack height is very low and there is not really space for another stack on the side. So i had to come up with some home made solutions to fit all the Tarsier PCBs; I had to drill holes in the carbon fiber of the "head plate" to secure it.
Looking back, having the main power cables run along in the middle to the back, is a costly waste of the already small space. A more clever idea is to have the power cable come out from the front, or from the side.

Very fun first build project.

Took me a while to figure everything out and the first flight lasted only 8 seconds before i smashed it into the ground. But i'm learning.
I have to thank all the great guys at the Drone Nation app (both android and iphone) and especially 4CL6 for his incredible patience in guiding me.

AirbladeUAV has done it again and this time they've brought long range to the 5" class! Based on the popular Transformer Mini, the new Transformer 5" Ultralight adopts a lot of the same design philosophies with larger props and more payload capacity. It can fly upwards of 20 minutes on a 4 cell Li-Ion battery pack and in ideal conditions it's got a range of over 4 to 5 miles. In this guide I'll walk..

With the release of the DJI FPV Drone cinematic FPV has become a lot more accessible, but you certainly don't want to crash a $750 drone! The QAV-CINE Freybott is a compact, lightweight cinematic FPV drone that can take a hit and keep going. It's a lot safer to fly indoors and around people. With a naked GoPro or the SMO 4k you can capture some great stabilized footage. In this guide I'll show you..
