5inch pickleBig cut by CNCMADNESS!
I loved my pickleBig 4inch so much i wanted to cut the 5inch and build something really light! the goal was to be an ultralight, but it turned out being basically a normal lite, racer..
AUW = 370g with a rline v3 1300mah 4s pack.
DRY = 220 grams
i really love these hyperlite motors. its pretty much my style, to never use the same motors twice. with this being SO lite -- i figured 2505.5 would be neat to try! i've been in love with Hyperlite's lately, those single strand windings are so beautiful.
this has been maidened -- flies pretty great on stock, but ill be improving the tune over the next few days! ill post some DVR eventually~
AirbladeUAV has done it again and this time they've brought long range to the 5" class! Based on the popular Transformer Mini, the new Transformer 5" Ultralight adopts a lot of the same design philosophies with larger props and more payload capacity. It can fly upwards of 20 minutes on a 4 cell Li-Ion battery pack and in ideal conditions it's got a range of over 4 to 5 miles. In this guide I'll walk..

The QAV-CINE Freybott is a compact, lightweight cinematic FPV drone that can take a hit and keep going. It's a lot safer to fly indoors and around people. With a naked GoPro or the SMO 4k you can capture some great stabilized footage. In this guide I'll show you..

Oh god I bet that thing rips... almost no weight and those Hyperlites? Must be a true blast to fly.
its really cool! im actually having problems with it right now, ive tride 2 of these mamaba mk3 stacks in it, fresh out of the box. and they both are acting really really wonky.. like completely shutting down and spazzing out. i have 2 hunches. 1, the esc and fc might be slightly too close together, which would be stupid.. and 2, the KV might be too high on 4s with only 35amps available. however when it freaks out, the amp draw is not even that high, nor is the peak amp record for the flight.
but yes, when it stays in the air, its REALLY fast and fun. here is a video of it -- mute it -- which also includes the problem that im having. its not a loose connection, verified many times. i might jsut go with a compeltely different stack and put these in some future 3inch rippers or something

and here is what it SOUNDS like when it goes nuts
https://streamable.com/jdnoh
but yeah -- other than these issues, its a great platform! nice n light, agile, fast, fun.
Hmmmm. I'd guess noise on the gyro. I'd probably try soft mounting at the least the stack... maybe the motors as well. I am using Matek F405, F411, and F722 Minis on some smaller rigs and they are working very nicely. If you go to something else I'd try one of them.
its all soft mounted~ i really dunno what the hell is going on with it haha.. so weird to have exact same behavior on both stacks.. all it is is motors and fpv gear going on it >.< it flies great when its not spazing out
Sounds like the props are cavitating - flattening out and loosing thrust and the fc is just pialing on the power to compensate making the motors peak and desynk. try diferent props.
thinks so? didnu check those vids? it happens ecen when nothing hsppening really. ill toss some 51466 on there or something
could it be too high of kv?
The pid controller will command full noise sometimes even if your just tooling about. if its too high kv you could try 3s as well
2 fcs doing the exact same thing , gotta be a motor esc prop combo issue.. me thinks
for sure -- that was my thought exactly when it flipped out on the brand new stack -- im gunna motor_output_limit it down to 3s kv. probably like 75% and see what happens i guess.
Just watched the first vid again and it flashed low bat ? . how is the vtx wired
its a tiny tank. and its juet grtting 5v from the fc.
also saw *** just before it died could be brown out
Thing is everything goes away
yeah i dont understand whats going on eith it...people run 2207 on 4s on 30amp stacks just fine....i have nonidea whats going on with it...it flies fine until it doesnt .everything turns off.
If posable take as much load off the reg in the fc as you can and run everything you can from the lipo
bro -- i figured it out and i dont get it ...... it wanted to be on 6s.... lmao.. no clue why 4s didnt work right, 35 amps should be plenty... but i plopped a 6s 1150 talon (176grams) on it -- and put gemfan 51466 props on the bitch.. motor_output_limit of 75 for effective kv of 2022kv.. flies like a god damn champ dude. no more just dying. nothing. flies like it should, got it locked in tight as a pickle jar... /boggle
Cool , 6s giving the reg the extra volts to stop it dropping out, Thats all i can think of
I only had this happen to me once, and it was that my motors actually were "HV". That rig will not fly on anything less than 5S for more than 30 seconds. I do just run it on 6S and I've never had it happen since.
