This is my first 5'' racing quad. I started flying quads first racing on sims but when it came time to build I decided my first quad was going to be a freestyle build. My rooster has done me good and will continue to be my go to quad for freestyle, but I've been wanting to get into racing and the beefy boy wasn't gonna cut it. So I decided to make the SWITCH BACK to racing with none other than Five33's Switchback frame.
My initial inspiration came from this wonderful build video by TheRCAddict:
I later opted for a 30x30 form simply because I could find better parts for cheaper online. I plan on making the switch to 20x20 in the future, as this was a very tight build and wouldn't of turned out as nice as it did without some custom parts. I had Mark McCollum print me out some fantastic TPU parts of this "Five33 Switchback micro cam mount" by SandroFTW on Thingiverse. https://www.thingiverse.com/thing:4093431. I actually used this mount both as my camera mount and as a solution to fitting in both my rear standoffs and the battery leads from the Hobbywing 60A ESC. This esc was a little bulky for this build but with the help of this print I was able to make it fit. We'll see how strong the m3 bolts hang on to the TPU in a crash though.
I really enjoyed making this build and hope you all enjoy it!
AirbladeUAV has done it again and this time they've brought long range to the 5" class! Based on the popular Transformer Mini, the new Transformer 5" Ultralight adopts a lot of the same design philosophies with larger props and more payload capacity. It can fly upwards of 20 minutes on a 4 cell Li-Ion battery pack and in ideal conditions it's got a range of over 4 to 5 miles. In this guide I'll walk..

The QAV-CINE Freybott is a compact, lightweight cinematic FPV drone that can take a hit and keep going. It's a lot safer to fly indoors and around people. With a naked GoPro or the SMO 4k you can capture some great stabilized footage. In this guide I'll show you..
