AirbladeUAV has done it again and this time they've brought long range to the 5" class! Based on the popular Transformer Mini, the new Transformer 5" Ultralight adopts a lot of the same design philosophies with larger props and more payload capacity. It can fly upwards of 20 minutes on a 4 cell Li-Ion battery pack and in ideal conditions it's got a range of over 4 to 5 miles. In this guide I'll walk..

Is it CF wrapped in an injection molded cover?
We are still working on what the final cover will be made of but the prototyp (images) use a 3d printed cover. The drone has a carbon fiber plate but a 3d printed outside
almost $250 for a cf plate and 3D print?
Seems like it. Still dope though. I would get it if it weren't so expensive.
I am currently working on getting the price down. the $250 price you are seeing is for the full kit frame kit. I am working out deals with manufacturers that will hopfully bring the cost to sub $200
Can yourelease the files publicly so when someone lands in soft grass with their 3d prin they don't have to pay $50 to get a new one?
This problem is known and we are working on fixing the price, $50 is not the final price.
What material are you printing the shell in? TPU is practically indestuctable! if you were to print in this, you would never have to replace these parts. If anyone needs printing tips for TPU, Shoot me a Message. Carbonfiber filled Nylon is also very durable and light compared to other 3DP materials.
The canopy is currently printed from PETG but POLYCARBONATE versions are currently being prototyped.
