When you use your wing to shoot gaps . . . this is what is looks like ;)
Built using some cheap from from walmart and downloaded plans. When this is completely smashed up and not repareable whatsoever I think I'll buy the actual kit. The foam is lighter which would help take care of the CG issues I had.
Electronics is basic stuff I stole off of my wrecked UAV features build including camera, vtx, and motor. Esc and servos are from a flite test power pack; the whole plane ends up being powered by a flite test power pack F (with a better prop) if you know what that is.
It flies okay. Really, really, likes to go fast, but is terrible when it comes to slow speed maneuvers. Due to inability to move CG far enough forward, it kind of flops over backwards and loses all control authority when you stall. I try and cruise around half throttle to prevent this, speaking of which I can get over 7 minutes flight time with the listed battery. Pretty stable at high speeds, and decent inverted behavior. At full throttle there is nearly unlimited vertical; and the roll rate tho! I tend not to fly very far because of the Flysky's lack of transmitting power, but I want to get the updated QX7 that comes with an r9 module that would give me a lot more freedom.
Many a crash has this thing survived, even though I have broken it in half several times. a bit of work and some hot glue and it's ready to fly again. The center pod is in the third version; I completely smashed the original FT one, and my second rebuild wasn't very good.
Yeah, I know I just glued the beeper on there, and I know the camera location is not the best, but it's still enjoyable to fly and quite robust, not to mention the low cost!
Added bonus, it's really good for biking trips. My backpack has the perfect clips that go around the wings, and it stays on quite nicely!
AirbladeUAV has done it again and this time they've brought long range to the 5" class! Based on the popular Transformer Mini, the new Transformer 5" Ultralight adopts a lot of the same design philosophies with larger props and more payload capacity. It can fly upwards of 20 minutes on a 4 cell Li-Ion battery pack and in ideal conditions it's got a range of over 4 to 5 miles. In this guide I'll walk..

The QAV-CINE Freybott is a compact, lightweight cinematic FPV drone that can take a hit and keep going. It's a lot safer to fly indoors and around people. With a naked GoPro or the SMO 4k you can capture some great stabilized footage. In this guide I'll show you..

just built a wing with a flysky ia6b and havnt flown it yet , but how far are you going out with yours ?
Definetly within line of sight. I have kept mine within a quarter mile (with a clear visual) and have been completely fine. You could probbaly go further, but if it's not neccasary I wouldn't risk it.
I did failsafe for like a half second several times when I was turning around in a reasonable range, but that could also be attributed to the fact that one of my antennas was chopped off by my carelessness.
If you want to test your range you can have a friend walk your plane away from you until your controls stop working, and then stay within 2/3s or so of that distance. Let me know how it work s out!
