Sticking this up now to force me to update the rest of the details this evening.
More durable and versatile then a naked Gopro, but 1/3 the weight of a stock unit.

so you opened you gopro, took the electronics and lens wihtout the screen battery then you added your own power supply ?
the result is 1/3 the weight ?

Until recently GoPros were delegated to larger quads. A typical GoPro weighs around 125g and we've only recently begun to mount them on 3" cinewhoops. Even that is a stress on the motors.
