This build was intended to be a test of the betaflight 4.x.x firmware. I didn't want to switch or was hesitant. It took some time to get used to the new way of tuning via filters and sliders,. Though, to fine tune further, I think I'd have to break away from the sliders. I was massively surprised on how good the 4.x.x firmware really is! As long as you set it right, it flies awesome with hardly any tuning!! I will probably fine tune it further but it already flies great as it is. Well, at least for my piloting skill level.... Having said that, I will eventually migrate most of my builds to the new firmware. :)
The GEPRC frame is pretty light for a freestyle frame. It's hard to find frames this stiff and light. Or at least, we don't have much to choose from.
Nice build! What is the AUW?
Thanks. :) It really depends on which lipo I use. The quad itself with the gopro and everything else minus LiPo is around 435g. (I'll have to remeasure this to be accurate.) I don't have the lightest and most expensive LiPos. If I use my tbs graphene 1000mAH, I get around 610g AUW. ~660g with my CHNL 1300mAH black. ~645g with my new ovonic 1300mAH. I also have heavier older 1550mAH tattu's, they're damn heavy. My quad goes a little bit more than 700g. I can really feel the weight. Around 650g is perfect. All 6s just to not forget to mention it. hehe
Thanks, I want to build similar :)
It's really awesome. This frame is so awesome. Freestyle frames with a weight around the 100g range are rare. There's Kebab's FPV Cylcle Glide Lite and regular glide which weight both at 87g and 97g, respectively. I wanted to get those but they're hard to get and always out of stock. So I went for this frame. By far, the best frame I've had. No weird resonances, thus, no mid-throttle oscillations and jello. This is a recent I edit I made. I crashed hard a few times. It survived so far. hehe
I think you're gonna love this frame. :) It reacts like a racer and hangs/drifts like a freestyler. :D
Great! I also like Kabab's designs and wated Glide but because same reasons as you I decide I'll get GEPRC :) Can't wait to fly one.
Smooth and steady flight, nicely done :)
Could you link to 3D printed parts?
Hey I'm not sure if these are the exact files. I just searched for it in thingiverse. :)
