Hey y'all.
So, if you've been following Nomad to any extent you may have noticed the Micro Raven (a couple builds back) never hit the shop. Yep, this frame has technically been in the 'prototyping' stage while this segment of the market has made leaps forward over the past year or so. We've seen a lot of these AIO boards come and go and evolve to a point where new options are available for everything from whoops to 5" ultralights. With these products having settled into their standards, it's time to find their limits and balance them into the right packages. So let's start with the basic 'TP3' setup.
I remember not so long ago, it was most common to build 3" quads using high rising 20x20 stacks, 1408 motors with M5 shafts, and big fat batteries to huck all that weight around. It's not a completely useless formula, but it is one that I've never liked - so as components started becoming available for high-powered whoops and toothpick setups, I saw it as a wonderful opportunity for the 3" Raven. My intent with the Raven has always been to expand the lineup from 2" to 10" and I'm still active on that endeavor.
This model features a new canopy I've made while learning more about Fusion 360 over the past year. Without going too far into detail, the tools I was using before are great for freeform modeling, but have limited functionality for adding & adjusting features like vents, camera mounts, antenna mounts, etc.
It's been a path of unlearning & relearning a lot of concepts to adapt, but well worth it as these new parts will be much easier to modify and make new variants. Visually I think this pod fits the Raven lineup much truer than my previous canopy design. It fits a 14mm camera and in this case, a TBS crossfire micro & unify nano stuffed freely inside.
The canopy weighs about 5g
The dry weight of this build is 56g
AUW ranges from about 80g - 100g depending on the battery
Flight time (mixed speed) can run from 4m to 7m depending on the battery
You can download and print the canopies here
Frame kits will be available soon at nomaduav.com

Really love clean this makes the build look, plan to print a canopy this evening. Have you put it on Thingiverse so people can send you tips $ for your work?
AirbladeUAV has done it again and this time they've brought long range to the 5" class! Based on the popular Transformer Mini, the new Transformer 5" Ultralight adopts a lot of the same design philosophies with larger props and more payload capacity. It can fly upwards of 20 minutes on a 4 cell Li-Ion battery pack and in ideal conditions it's got a range of over 4 to 5 miles. In this guide I'll walk..

The QAV-CINE Freybott is a compact, lightweight cinematic FPV drone that can take a hit and keep going. It's a lot safer to fly indoors and around people. With a naked GoPro or the SMO 4k you can capture some great stabilized footage. In this guide I'll show you..
