Vista Toothpick

I really wanted the lightest micro quad I could fly with a caddx vista. Here is the result!
I had to 3d print the camera mount so I could move it at the front since it wouldn't fit at the top.

This thing flies amazing, I get 5-6 minutes out of it and it has plenty of power. I wish it was 10-20g lighter but it's carrying a vista so....

Note that I got the 12mm mount motors for a 9mm mount frame so I had to print lame adapter mounts.

If you switched to 11xx motors you would reduce your metal weight, as well as ditching the extra screws&plastic of your motor mount adapters. Seems like it would solve all your problems :)

1106 motors are very potent at that weight, There are also 1108 motors, which would be super-powered. That being said, if you like how it flies, and you don't still want to drop that weight, there is no NEED to change. If you like it, maybe you DON'T need to drop the weight.

It is worth noting: many people experience a signifigant imporvement in handling when dropping as little as 5 grams on a craft with a total weight that low.

Do you have any builds on this site?

The onyl reason I'd want to drop weight is for the frame to have less chance of breaking during a crash. 20 more grams is a lot more to handle during a crash, I'll look into this for my next motors. Thanks!

AirbladeUAV has done it again and this time they've brought long range to the 5" class! Based on the popular Transformer Mini, the new Transformer 5" Ultralight adopts a lot of the same design philosophies with larger props and more payload capacity. It can fly upwards of 20 minutes on a 4 cell Li-Ion battery pack and in ideal conditions it's got a range of over 4 to 5 miles. In this guide I'll walk..

With the release of the DJI FPV Drone cinematic FPV has become a lot more accessible, but you certainly don't want to crash a $750 drone! The QAV-CINE Freybott is a compact, lightweight cinematic FPV drone that can take a hit and keep going. It's a lot safer to fly indoors and around people. With a naked GoPro or the SMO 4k you can capture some great stabilized footage. In this guide I'll show you..
