It wasn't quite complete when I took this picture, missing some screws, but this little 3" frame from twinquadframes flies amazing. I can really appreciate how the screws that came with the frame for the stack, actually go completely up into the top part of the frame. It just adds that much more stability. I had to use one shorter one, because I lost a screw.

I put the arms on wrong the first time, and it could only fit 2.5" props like that. From the pictures online, it looks like a stretched-x design, not a wide-x. Anyways, now I am able to put those 3" bi blade gemfan 3018's, or the HQ 3020's, on top of some 1404 3700kv motors from emax.

I opted for the Talon F7 fc for this, due to it's positive community feedback. The worst thing I hate about this hobby, is unreliable FC's, or ones the have pads that come right off, like the new 20 and 30 amp toothpick styled FC's.

Using the r9 system, I chose the r9 mini receiver. For video, I used a matek 800mw vtx, a foxeer 1200vl wide view camera, and an iFlight 4in1 40 amp esc.

One gripe about this thing, is that 450-650mah batteries are just a tad to small, and 850mah batteries are a little to big. I have settled for the racedayquads branded 650mah 15.2v 3s and 4s, due to their light weight. It's a close one, but also it is hard to find a bunch of quality 850mah with an xt30 connector. And because of the added weight, there isn't really a difference in flight time between 650 and 850mah packs. 850 mah 4s really belong with 15xx + motors. The 450 mah batteries I have also work great in parallel.

AirbladeUAV has done it again and this time they've brought long range to the 5" class! Based on the popular Transformer Mini, the new Transformer 5" Ultralight adopts a lot of the same design philosophies with larger props and more payload capacity. It can fly upwards of 20 minutes on a 4 cell Li-Ion battery pack and in ideal conditions it's got a range of over 4 to 5 miles. In this guide I'll walk..

With the release of the DJI FPV Drone cinematic FPV has become a lot more accessible, but you certainly don't want to crash a $750 drone! The QAV-CINE Freybott is a compact, lightweight cinematic FPV drone that can take a hit and keep going. It's a lot safer to fly indoors and around people. With a naked GoPro or the SMO 4k you can capture some great stabilized footage. In this guide I'll show you..
