Tried to build a super lightweight 3" HD toothpick. With 2 or 3 bladed prop still under 100g AUW. Dryweight is about 60g.

For the frame i took parts from the TBS Flyspeck Kit. Although the kit is mentioned for 2.5" it still fits 3" Props. The frame is a lightweight with around 6g.

The Canopy is from the LDARC AK103. I had to cut a lot from the outer edges to make it fit with the props ( at the closest points there are only 1-2mm of space, hopefully enough, but after four packs no issues so far..). To hold the Runcam nicely protected i drilled additional holes in the canopy. I also drilled three holes from top for screwing the canopy to the frame with steel screws an nylon standoffs.

FC and Runcam dvr is stacked as close as possible. (...had to use the 20A version of the board cause no otther was available at my prefered shop in germany, the 12a should also work i guess...). Above the boards sits the canopy in which the cam, the xm+ and the TBS vtx rests. The beeper is located directly under the cam ,still under the canopy. All packed very close, but so far no heat or vibration issues. Only the 220uf cap couldn't find a place inside, so i just put it above the battery pads facing backwards .

The 1203 motors are powerfull enough for 3s with 2-bladed props. on 2s it can also perform well with the three bladed gemfan hurricans.

I get around 4-6 minutes of flighttime with hand warm lipos in the end, so far very efficent build.

Still working on the pids, but i think i will load up some flight footage soon.

AirbladeUAV has done it again and this time they've brought long range to the 5" class! Based on the popular Transformer Mini, the new Transformer 5" Ultralight adopts a lot of the same design philosophies with larger props and more payload capacity. It can fly upwards of 20 minutes on a 4 cell Li-Ion battery pack and in ideal conditions it's got a range of over 4 to 5 miles. In this guide I'll walk..

With the release of the DJI FPV Drone cinematic FPV has become a lot more accessible, but you certainly don't want to crash a $750 drone! The QAV-CINE Freybott is a compact, lightweight cinematic FPV drone that can take a hit and keep going. It's a lot safer to fly indoors and around people. With a naked GoPro or the SMO 4k you can capture some great stabilized footage. In this guide I'll show you..
