After building a number of sub 250g miniquads, a 4 inch build that is way too heavy for anything but cruising, and a 7" build that is way too precious to practice acro on... I decided it was time to build a simple 5" setup that could carry a gopro, fly medium range, and do freestyle. After a bit of research (and opportunistic sale hunting) I came up with this build. Went a bit try hard on the green... but I like it. The name Falkor (which Foxeer has used for their camera) comes from the movie "the neverending story" that I grew up with. Falkor (for those of you who don't know) was a luck dragon. I took this queue in the naming of the build. For now its running on stock pids/rates and flys like a champ. Future plans are to dial things in a bit more, and to upgrade the ESC's to 6S since everything else in the build supports it (other than the motors which max out at 5s) but a quick google shows there are ways to still run 6S batts with a bit of betaflight magic. Let me know what you think and if you have any questions!
AirbladeUAV has done it again and this time they've brought long range to the 5" class! Based on the popular Transformer Mini, the new Transformer 5" Ultralight adopts a lot of the same design philosophies with larger props and more payload capacity. It can fly upwards of 20 minutes on a 4 cell Li-Ion battery pack and in ideal conditions it's got a range of over 4 to 5 miles. In this guide I'll walk..

The QAV-CINE Freybott is a compact, lightweight cinematic FPV drone that can take a hit and keep going. It's a lot safer to fly indoors and around people. With a naked GoPro or the SMO 4k you can capture some great stabilized footage. In this guide I'll show you..
