After having moderate success with my ET-5 build, I went further in ulralight 5'' deep with bigger motors and ligher frame.
If you like this frame I recommend you wait for the V2 to get the TPU printed cockpit. Mine is printed in PLA and broke before mayden flight while doing a hover test.

General notes on flying characteristics

  • The punch in unreal because of the light weight to thrust ratio,
  • however the top speed is not as fast as a typical 300 grams 2207 racer.
  • It feels floaty in the air and more affected by wind compared to my typical racers,
  • Its aptitude to change direction is impressive, especially for 180 degrees turns

Building skills needed are intermediate, the only delicate part is to close the canopy with the receiver and VTX antenna to fit as you srew it.

General notes on build

  1. I modded the rear strandoff with a long m2 stainless screw and the top nut is recycled from a destroyed mini to micro camera adapter (runcam)
  2. The (high quality) screws that come with the motor are from titanium, so dont try to throw on a magnet :)
  3. First stack is ESC, then FC, then the plexiglass that comes with frame, then VTX and Receiver on foam tape
  4. Careful if you wanna cut the plexiglass
  5. The PLA canopy is crap... literally ready for the trash bin
  6. In my particular build I have 2 XT connectors in series because I only own 2S packs
  7. Half adapters that came with the props came bent and unusable... They allow to turn normal props into T-mount props
  8. I was able to go turquoise on : canopy/props/grommets/ummagrip/antenna.caps... who will push the limit ?

AirbladeUAV has done it again and this time they've brought long range to the 5" class! Based on the popular Transformer Mini, the new Transformer 5" Ultralight adopts a lot of the same design philosophies with larger props and more payload capacity. It can fly upwards of 20 minutes on a 4 cell Li-Ion battery pack and in ideal conditions it's got a range of over 4 to 5 miles. In this guide I'll walk..

With the release of the DJI FPV Drone cinematic FPV has become a lot more accessible, but you certainly don't want to crash a $750 drone! The QAV-CINE Freybott is a compact, lightweight cinematic FPV drone that can take a hit and keep going. It's a lot safer to fly indoors and around people. With a naked GoPro or the SMO 4k you can capture some great stabilized footage. In this guide I'll show you..
