Started with the TomoQuads Katana 2 UL-LR frame that supports front and rear multi-stack for M2 16x16 or M2 20x20 boards and I chose to go with 20x20 as I already had some components laying around but If i was to re-do the build I would rather go with 16x16 not only for weight but as well as form factor as I did have some issues when trying to find space for my capacitor. For my motors I went with the Xnova 1406 4000kv motors which I have used on 3 inch builds in the past and have to say these have been my go to as they are just a powerhouse that will knock your socks off! To power these motors I chose the HAKRC 35A 4 in 1 and the TinyLEDS micro race wire to bring it all together. The flight controller is a AIKON F7 which offered a very nice layout to solder everything on to. As far as fpv goes, I used the HGLRC Forward MT Mini which offers up to 600mw and attached a TBS Triumph pro which brought down the weight a bit as it uses U.Fl connector and is small in size. The HGLRC VTX also has smart audio using Tramp Protocol which in my builds is a must as I hate manually adjusting any VTX. The camera I chose was the Runcam Phoenix 2 JB editon and ended up having to use the Squirt v2 3d printed camera mount set as I did not receive a camera mounting option when I got the frame but according to TomoQuads website the frame is suppost to ship with them included. The Katana frame included a 3d printed gps holder at the rear of the frame which I did not use as I dont plan on going long range with this build but is always a option if your looking for a smaller long range build similar to the Flywoo explorer LR. The dry weight is 174.6g and with a 650 4s with xt60 it turned up (for those who want to be legal) right under the limit at 246.9g. With a 850 4s pack it came in at 285.3g but I think this is the right size for this build. Overall was a fun build and this thing rips and will make parts of your body pucker with every flight!

AirbladeUAV has done it again and this time they've brought long range to the 5" class! Based on the popular Transformer Mini, the new Transformer 5" Ultralight adopts a lot of the same design philosophies with larger props and more payload capacity. It can fly upwards of 20 minutes on a 4 cell Li-Ion battery pack and in ideal conditions it's got a range of over 4 to 5 miles. In this guide I'll walk..

With the release of the DJI FPV Drone cinematic FPV has become a lot more accessible, but you certainly don't want to crash a $750 drone! The QAV-CINE Freybott is a compact, lightweight cinematic FPV drone that can take a hit and keep going. It's a lot safer to fly indoors and around people. With a naked GoPro or the SMO 4k you can capture some great stabilized footage. In this guide I'll show you..
