This was my first ever build. After 6 months of research, simulator flying and slowly purchasing the parts I started my build.
I went with Andy Shen's Squirt V2 frame. All of the parts I purchased for this build I did through RDQ. The first thing I did was put on the motors and trim the wires. for other first time builders: at this point put your shrink tubes I then put on the standoffs and put on the 4-1 ESC and soldered on the motor wires. The 4-1 ESC has a nice wiring harness that plugs straight into the FC. The Diatome Mamba F4 is great because it has everything labeled and plenty of UARTS. The biggest issue is if this is your first time soldering, the FC has tiny pads to solder too.
I ended up using the RDQ Mach 3 vtx. This is a solid VTX that goes to 1000mw and is easy to adjust between 25-1000 with the button on top.
The TPU props are 3D printed, so they can have a little bit of an issue with not being perfectly round. I used a 3D printed prop trimmer, with the STL file from Andy Shen's website. The ducts required a little bit of sanding on some spots, because they were out of round. Another point to be made is that once you have the ducts on the standoffs, the only way to get the off is to remove the screws from the frame, because they are on TIGHT.
My first VTX board was DOA, but Race Day Quads had me a new one within 48 hours.
I have been using a 1300 MaH battery and getting about 6 minutes of flight time.
