My second Long range Chameleon Ti 7 inch, this time using DJI Air Unit. For some of the TPU parts in this build I needed to create and print custom parts to make everything fit, FC and ESC holder... Air Unit holder... and make everything easy to get too. I also needed to print a custom Antenna mount to also support a GPS unit. I also needed to extend the wire from the rear motors in order to reach the ESC.
I've been looking to convert my 7" to DJI and this lines out what I want to do perfectly. Can you share the links for the printed parts? I see some of them, but not the ones for the antenna / GPS / AU. Cheers.
Thanks for the advice which I'm already aware of, but it sounds like you misread the post. He is having this issue without the screws touching the frame. I am NOT having this issue with the screws touching the frame. I also have grommets on the FC and ESC to reduce vibrations. I am very happy with the flight of this quadcopter and have not noticed any issues with the gyro.
Thanks for the info Optikool, I had been looking at your pics and asked to verify what i believed to be true, i.e. that you were using the top plate to help as well. I have my back end zip tied to the frame and it's soft mounted, so I'm going through my power system tonight. Could be a bad cap or a bad gyro.... still a great design...
Impressively neat build. :) It's encouraging to see that someone else has already done this, I'm looking to convert my analog chameleon 7". I've got a couple questions.
Thanks for the comment. The holder for the air unit is not necessary. I liked the design of the holder so I modified it to fit in this frame. But I'm sure you can use any holder that fits in the frame. I haven't taken this build out past half a mile, mainly because I haven't gone to an open area yet, but also because the DJI air unit doesn't currently support live audio, which I use. I generally use my other Chameleon 7" analog build for long range. :)
AirbladeUAV has done it again and this time they've brought long range to the 5" class! Based on the popular Transformer Mini, the new Transformer 5" Ultralight adopts a lot of the same design philosophies with larger props and more payload capacity. It can fly upwards of 20 minutes on a 4 cell Li-Ion battery pack and in ideal conditions it's got a range of over 4 to 5 miles. In this guide I'll walk..

The QAV-CINE Freybott is a compact, lightweight cinematic FPV drone that can take a hit and keep going. It's a lot safer to fly indoors and around people. With a naked GoPro or the SMO 4k you can capture some great stabilized footage. In this guide I'll show you..
