Tiny Scout (Tinyhawk 2 Rebuild)

Decided to rebuild my tinyhawk 2. The main reason was due to poor video tranimission and low receiver range. The actual tune for the tinyhawk 2 is excellent and nothing needs to be changed in regards to this. Started with a new frame from Emax (camo). Removed the FC board from the old frame. Removed motors as well as the old video transmitter. The Vtx can be removed by (carefully) cutting the 4 posts that hold it to the FC board. Camera was good, its a runcam 2, no problems there.

I went with the Rush Tiny tank Vtx. The Rush comes with some excellent little sleds for working with whoops. The sled with the LEDS fits almost perfectly into the Tinyhawk 2 frame with one exception, you will not be able to access the USB port without removing the board (just make sure its programmed before assembly). The sled accepts the TBS Crossfire nano receiver right into it, just be aware that you will have some some soldering to do, I think it was like 23 solder points in total.

Not much to reprogram, just setup the crossfire reciever and the Vtx and it was good to go. Now I have an excellent little 900Mhz reciever antenna and a little cherry RHCP 5Ghz antenna. I run the crossfire at 500mW and the Vtx at its full 350mW, the range is now insane and the video is beautiful.

I love this little Whoop, it is now my favorite.

AirbladeUAV has done it again and this time they've brought long range to the 5" class! Based on the popular Transformer Mini, the new Transformer 5" Ultralight adopts a lot of the same design philosophies with larger props and more payload capacity. It can fly upwards of 20 minutes on a 4 cell Li-Ion battery pack and in ideal conditions it's got a range of over 4 to 5 miles. In this guide I'll walk..

With the release of the DJI FPV Drone cinematic FPV has become a lot more accessible, but you certainly don't want to crash a $750 drone! The QAV-CINE Freybott is a compact, lightweight cinematic FPV drone that can take a hit and keep going. It's a lot safer to fly indoors and around people. With a naked GoPro or the SMO 4k you can capture some great stabilized footage. In this guide I'll show you..
