Finally done with this build, I really obsessed on this build, as the name of this quad implies (it's the actual frame name as well), lol. This was a fun build and I had other ideas in mind but it didn't go as planned. It took me almost 5 weeks to complete this build mainly to do from working a lot of overtime all the time. Other then that, first off I wanna give a shout out to Jeff (Owner of Dquad), for hooking me up with this frame, I'm very thankful for that because currently it's not on the market but will be sometime from now until 2 more weeks, at pyrodrone, and I'm sure other places as well. I been obsessing about this frame since I originally seen it 4-5 months ago on Instagram. Originally I had this whole vision in my head to Hydro-dip this frame, so I had to research that a bit to plan it out and buy the proper primer/paint to do this, but that didn't turn out to well because it got gunky while swirling and basically it was a mess (pictures below), in fact their will be many pictures below. I made a DIY Photoshoot box that only cost $15 and a few desktop lamps, if you want info on this PM me or comment below. So I decided to start over and go with plan #2 (which came out awesome) but I had to buy grafiti remover, and 400 grit sandpaper and scrub the oil based/appliance epoxy off which took me 3 days to do, because of the little time I have before work. I repainted my quad with the appliance epoxy and then used oil-based makers for the edge work, I think it came out nice looking.
I also did all the 3D-Prining myself, and I created the Axii mount myself, because their is no Axii mount on the internet for this Obsession frame. I used TinkerCad (on the browser), this alone took me 4-5 hours, do to the fact I had to research how to use TinkerCad too. Also with the 3D Printing I wanted dual color prints, which I have never done niether, so I quickly learned how to do G-Code Modification in Cura to do this. I love the way all the prints came out and I will share my Axii mount on Thingyverse too (and post the link here) later as well, check back often for the link or PM me. (here is the thingyverse link to my Axii mount https://www.thingiverse.com/thing:4634399
I decided to do a 6s quad with this build, and this will be my first 6s quad as well. The build it's self was a my tightest build to date. This build pretty much has everything except for a gps, which I can add, but I decided not to. I will post many pics below (I took over 75 pics, and chose only the best below). I even painted the motor wires white, which was a real pain, because doesn't stick to silicone wiring good at all, but it came out ok looking just for pictures at least. I also used white mamba flash bang motor wire LED's too, which are white (originally I wasn't going to use them), Also, got LED's on the bottom which are going to be pink flashes, and back 4 LED's will be light blue. This weighs 374 grams. I got pics before and after on that as well. All parts will be listed below too. This is by far the most expensive build to date, do to all the money I spent on the paints/markers, extra parts, etc.. I will also be sharing the maiden flight video on this page as well, when I complete that sometime this week or next weekend. The below parts list price doesn't include the frame, all the paints, etc, so add about another $150. Hope you like this build, feel free to leave comments if you would like :)
Can I ask how you wired your FC for the LED strips? I got the same ones but cant seem to control them using BF.
looks like some sweet candy. Just Amazing! -
thanks for sharing
Outstanding! I am definitely one for style-over-weight-saving, but this is taking things to an obsessive extreme; I tip my hat! Lovely work. And gosh, Gate Breakers... I haven't flown Gate Breakers in ages, I should dig some out...
AirbladeUAV has done it again and this time they've brought long range to the 5" class! Based on the popular Transformer Mini, the new Transformer 5" Ultralight adopts a lot of the same design philosophies with larger props and more payload capacity. It can fly upwards of 20 minutes on a 4 cell Li-Ion battery pack and in ideal conditions it's got a range of over 4 to 5 miles. In this guide I'll walk..

The QAV-CINE Freybott is a compact, lightweight cinematic FPV drone that can take a hit and keep going. It's a lot safer to fly indoors and around people. With a naked GoPro or the SMO 4k you can capture some great stabilized footage. In this guide I'll show you..
