"You should avoid doing slammed Builds."

Suffice it to say I didn't listen and didn't learn anything today. I have a sickness and it manifests as this hobby. Always wanted to build up one of these frames. Here's my take on this stylish racer from Catalyst Machineworks. I've been doing this for a little more than a year now and I think I got the hang of things.

Just took it out tonight on stock BF 4.2 PID's with D min off and 75% motor output limited.

Very Nice. I expected the massive torque, but its still quite shocking when you punch the throttle and the landscape starts rushing by you at warp speed. Why aren't these used on 5 inch quads on a regular basis?

Very, very nice. The elegance of simplicity.

And yes, despite what the RR Boyz opined, slammed builds do look very slick - and let's face it, even though we can't see them in flight, we do want our flying robots to be things of beauty. :)

Thank you. I love the build process. I can't help myself... I just buy parts for the hell of it without really knowing what I want to build with them. I slowly piece the model together until one night when I am near my bench a magical thing happens and a flying beast is created.

Eachine put out a BNF called the LAL 5 with big gold blingy 2507's and EVERY REVIEWER put them on blast for being to heavy/thirsty. You have a lighter setup, and a generous throttle cut, so that's probably ideal, maybe even conservative. I had the same reaction that you are having though, I watched the reviews and thought "Why are you talking like this is bad?....". I get it that you can go too far in your demands on a battery, but there are ways to make a massive motor awesome... ppl have been doing it for a LONG time.
Yours seems stylish AND powerful, I salute you.
p.s. I hope your usb port touching/shorting the top plate isn't a problem friend, I would put some barrier so it's not conductive at the very least... I hope your port doesn't smash shut in a crash!!

Thank you for the comments. I increased the power up to 82%.
I will post up a video as soon as I get some decent footage. I will definitely put something on top of the usb port. Thanks for the tip

AirbladeUAV has done it again and this time they've brought long range to the 5" class! Based on the popular Transformer Mini, the new Transformer 5" Ultralight adopts a lot of the same design philosophies with larger props and more payload capacity. It can fly upwards of 20 minutes on a 4 cell Li-Ion battery pack and in ideal conditions it's got a range of over 4 to 5 miles. In this guide I'll walk..

With the release of the DJI FPV Drone cinematic FPV has become a lot more accessible, but you certainly don't want to crash a $750 drone! The QAV-CINE Freybott is a compact, lightweight cinematic FPV drone that can take a hit and keep going. It's a lot safer to fly indoors and around people. With a naked GoPro or the SMO 4k you can capture some great stabilized footage. In this guide I'll show you..
