I've always wondered,
why there aren't whoops bigger than 4 inches. And cinematic copters with carbon protection even stop at 3 inches. The boys fly with their Thicc copters through the forest and nearby objects and I ask, hey, that's really dangerous. Why don't you have propeller protectors? And then I saw the Cine Feybott Frame and was amazed by the combination of Ducts and carbon protection.
The idea was born, I want that too, but big.
The supporting framework is a DeadCat frame. There is a 3mm uni plate on top. Spacer in 30mm. And the top uni plate in 2.5mm. In between 1/3 TPU ducts. The large frame has enough space for two 30x30 stacks in a row (upgrade to Octocoper) and the digital AirUnit from DJI. Left and right the power supply (Pololu) for DJI and the LEDs fit perfectly.
If the performance of the BrotherHobby Avengers is not enough, it can be quickly upgraded to 8 motors.
The empty frame weighs 555g
Unfortunately at the moment the weather is so bad that a test flight has not yet been carried out.
I still have a lot of work to do in the area of TPU design.
Updates will follow ...
The Maiden are done.
first real flight, a lot to do
Update: 23.12.20
A lot oft the TPU Work is done jet. :-)
AirbladeUAV has done it again and this time they've brought long range to the 5" class! Based on the popular Transformer Mini, the new Transformer 5" Ultralight adopts a lot of the same design philosophies with larger props and more payload capacity. It can fly upwards of 20 minutes on a 4 cell Li-Ion battery pack and in ideal conditions it's got a range of over 4 to 5 miles. In this guide I'll walk..

The QAV-CINE Freybott is a compact, lightweight cinematic FPV drone that can take a hit and keep going. It's a lot safer to fly indoors and around people. With a naked GoPro or the SMO 4k you can capture some great stabilized footage. In this guide I'll show you..

Cause their heavy and overly expensive. Which is why you dont see it much on quads larger than 3 inches.
Still thought its pretty cool to see the quality work you put into this build.
