It's winter, so perfect timing to test a naked Air Unit :)
It comes in at 174g, which is not bad considering the motors are bigger than the original.
So far this build has been pretty fun and it is flying great.
Possible improvements:
1) Flight time could be better with 1404 instead of 1407 motors, but I still had a couple of the 1407s so I used those. So far I have hit 10:30min with 4S 850mAh, which is not bad.
2) I used a Betafpv F4 AIO, which only has two UARTS. I've mapped GPS on soft serial. So far it seems to work but if I'd choose again I would take something like a JHEMCU GHF405 with three full UARTS.
3) I changed the DJI cam lens to the runcam one with wider FOV. Unfortunately it is longer and the lens is barely covered by the metal cage. If you are ok with the stock cam, you will get more protection
Hi! I like it! I'm about to do a similar one. o you think a full air unit can sit in the frame? What is so far your experience with Naked AirUnit?
I've seen one example on FB somewhere where somebody put in a full air unit in the front, and then a 20x20 stack in the back, so it works with a little creativity!
