This is an update of my first build. I've had so many AIO boards on this thing just go bad out of the blue that I put a ridiculously overpowered AIO board in it. I replaced several F4 boards from 20a to 30a with a HIFIONRC F7 45a. The first one of these lasted 6 batteries before the ESCs began stuttering and quit. The replacement has worked just fine. I am about to steal this F7 out of this quad for a 5 inch build so I have a BetaFPV Toothpick F4 V1 2-6S AIO Whoop Flight Controller w/ 35A 4in1 ESC on the way to go into this quad. I wanted to doccument the current version before I tear it apart. This is flown mostly on 450mah 4s batteries. That seems to be the best power and keeps the weight down. I also fly it on 850mah 3s, 650mah 4s and 520mah 3s. All work great but the 450mah 4s works the best.
I've started having the same problems with Frsky R-XSR receivers that I hear so many other people complain about. They failsafe when they're close, far, medium range from me. They just randomly cause the quad to fall out of the sky. That is unacceptable when we have so much time and money with these builds in the air, so the R-XSR is gone and Crossfire is in it's place.
I was using 3 inch Emax Avan 3 blade props on this and decided those were the props for this quad. Then I tried these bi-blades and was just shocked at the increase in speed. This little 3 inch is fast. It's not that loud with these bi-blades either. You don't have to get too far away from yourself before it's hard for you to hear it.
My original build used a 20x20 Mamba F405 stack. I had to make a custom bottom plate to hold it in the quad. This version is using a 100% Armattan Tadpole 3 inch frame. The arms are pretty flexable but I've never cracked or broken the arms. The flex may help to absorb impacts upon crashing. I'm not so convinced that super stiff arms are the way to go with something this fast and light weight. The weight is 105 grams without a battery.
I've also added a 35v capacitor. I believe it's a 470uf low ESR. I'm using XT30 battery connectors.

AirbladeUAV has done it again and this time they've brought long range to the 5" class! Based on the popular Transformer Mini, the new Transformer 5" Ultralight adopts a lot of the same design philosophies with larger props and more payload capacity. It can fly upwards of 20 minutes on a 4 cell Li-Ion battery pack and in ideal conditions it's got a range of over 4 to 5 miles. In this guide I'll walk..

The QAV-CINE Freybott is a compact, lightweight cinematic FPV drone that can take a hit and keep going. It's a lot safer to fly indoors and around people. With a naked GoPro or the SMO 4k you can capture some great stabilized footage. In this guide I'll show you..
