This micro quad is the result of one hour of work. It is based on an 85mm frame and cheap spare parts in my boxes. Finished with propellers in winter camouflage :)
Instead of 0802 engines and 40mm propellers, the target will be 1102 engines and 2 inch propellers. Current 0802 engines have too high kV (16000), so after 2 minutes of flight they are very hot and probably will not work in such conditions for a long time on 2S batteries. So I plan to temporarily reduce the kV to around 12000-13000.
Overall, the quad is agile and very fast for propellers and engines from Mobula 7 :)

Awesome! I love micros like these. They're my favorite to fly these days.

Ultra light 2.5-inch toothpicks allow me to fly practically everywhere in my city every day. Easy and cheap to build and repair, cheap batteries. I don't remember the last time I flew my 5-inch quad ... somewhere in summer 2020?

That's the last time I put a 5 inch in the air too.

nice build!
i believe lower kv wont give efficiency, its your crazy 75degree (?) cam angle, might be your flightspeed ;-)

Thanks :)
Actually, the camera angle is around 45 degrees and that's ok for the speed I fly with it.
I just cut the kV by 20%, now it is 12400 kV. Still fast, but not crazy as before;) Better throttle resolution and propeller work in the upper RPM range.
In the future, it will have 1102 10000 kV engines and 2 inch propellers.

Is that a hair tie?

Yes, and let's not talk about it out loud, my daughter nearby ...

AirbladeUAV has done it again and this time they've brought long range to the 5" class! Based on the popular Transformer Mini, the new Transformer 5" Ultralight adopts a lot of the same design philosophies with larger props and more payload capacity. It can fly upwards of 20 minutes on a 4 cell Li-Ion battery pack and in ideal conditions it's got a range of over 4 to 5 miles. In this guide I'll walk..

With the release of the DJI FPV Drone cinematic FPV has become a lot more accessible, but you certainly don't want to crash a $750 drone! The QAV-CINE Freybott is a compact, lightweight cinematic FPV drone that can take a hit and keep going. It's a lot safer to fly indoors and around people. With a naked GoPro or the SMO 4k you can capture some great stabilized footage. In this guide I'll show you..
