This is my first build; I initially purchased the Radiomaster TX12 however Banggood decided to cancel this order as there was something to do with sending it to me in the UK. I decided then to purchase the Betafpv LiteRadio 2 SE. The Betafpv LiteRadio 2 SE also uses FrSky protocols, as far as I am aware. Please let me know what other receivers work with this radio.
The Betafpv LiteRadio 2 SE was within budget for a beginner like me, and it was for sale on eBay so no waiting months for delivery. I intend to practice with the Betafpv LitRadio 2 SE on VelociDrone.
I aimed to build a drone using 2S 18650 batteries; I have stacks of them. My requirements were for a receiver compatible with the Betafpv LiteRadio 2 SE, FPV capability, GPS, total weight under 250g and a flight time of more than 6 minutes. It has not been an easy task for me, and I hope this current build will work.
I searched many builds on RotoBuilds. First starting with the FrSky SM+ receiver that is compatible with the Betafpv LiteRadio 2 SE.
I decided on what components to choose comparing other builds people have made.
I had further issues because some of the builds fitting my requirements either had dead links to the parts or were not described adequately. Other builds I found on the internet did not state what the components are.
Please get in touch if you see any issues with the equipment I have chosen for this build, at the moment I do not know if the 2S 18650 battery will be suitable and therefore I will find a compatible one to use.
I ordered most of the components from Banggood apart from the FPV camera as I would like to practice flying the drone without FPV first. When I am confident, I shall purchase the FPV camera, transmitter, antenna etc.
AirbladeUAV has done it again and this time they've brought long range to the 5" class! Based on the popular Transformer Mini, the new Transformer 5" Ultralight adopts a lot of the same design philosophies with larger props and more payload capacity. It can fly upwards of 20 minutes on a 4 cell Li-Ion battery pack and in ideal conditions it's got a range of over 4 to 5 miles. In this guide I'll walk..
Read moreWith the release of the DJI FPV Drone cinematic FPV has become a lot more accessible, but you certainly don't want to crash a $750 drone! The QAV-CINE Freybott is a compact, lightweight cinematic FPV drone that can take a hit and keep going. It's a lot safer to fly indoors and around people. With a naked GoPro or the SMO 4k you can capture some great stabilized footage. In this guide I'll show you..
