Hello All! I saw the TBS Source Aureo a few weeks back, and knew it'd be perfect for a long range build. I'm really impressed with the frame. The light weight is mind blowing when you unpackage it, and it doesn't seem to be as delicate as you'd expect (although I have been extremely gentle with my landings!)
The T Motor motors have perfect thrust on 4s, I haven't tried this with a lipo yet, but I think it'd make a decent acro frame as well. With the 3500mah lion, I'm able to get about 12 minutes of fast crusing, I think I'd get over 16 mins in a really slow cruise. It also has enough thrust for the 7000mah pack, but you can feel the weight. I got bored flying it with the 7000mah pack, so I'm not sure what the flight time would look like!
At 733g AUW with the 3500mah pack, it's about the same weight as most of my 5" modern freestyle builds.
Here's a quick video edit, run through reelsteady!
FPV has had quite a journey. Just a few years ago we started racing drones around a track and doing flips over trees, but professional cinematic FPV is a more recent development. DJI has always owned the drone photography market, but smaller acrobatic drones are starting to enter the market. They have the advantage of close proximity flight indoors and around people. There's more artistic freedom and..
Read moreFor the longest time we've been limited to 3 to 4 minutes of flight and lots and lots of batteries. With more efficient motors and frame designs it's now possible to push the envelope much further. This guide will walk you through the process of building a micro long range quad capable of flying 8-30 minutes and more than 4km. The build is moderately difficult, but with the right tools and steady hands..

neat build!! I see your running props out, do you like the setup?
Have you tried a "naked gopro"?
OR you could get a full size air unit, the recored your flight video and get 1200 mW video output in one setup, if it'll fit...
Yeah, I'm a big fan of all this, I'm not sure I could fit a full size air unit in there, would be really tight, unless I drop the gopro and just slap it on top haha.
For me, Image quality is always a #1 priority, so I've just gotten used to the gopro weight. A naked one would be good on this, I don't have one around (broke one a while back). I should avoid crashing this frame at all costs, I don't think it will take a hit at all, so a naked gopro would get me some performance back and I don't mind the lack of durability since if I crash this it's going to be a total loss anyway!
