Hello everyone! This is the 3rd quad I've built, and this is my first introduction into the "Long" Range world. Compared to my two other builds (5" freestyle), I wanted this to be able to cruise easily while carrying a GP8. The AUW is 1087 grams.
Weather is really poor in Texas right now, but I will add a video of flight footage once possible.
Frame: The Source One V3 is really hard to beat at its price. While I really don't like the arms sharing the screw with the flight stack, I have had little to no issues with it. My only issue has been the insert screws from RDQ being inferior to the frames sold by Pyro-Drone or GetFPV. And I'm not a fan of the V4.
Motors: As an engineer who used to work in the autmotive industry on electric motors, I really appreciate the work that Kebab has done on pushing the envelope for drone motors. I am keen to test these motors and see their potential. From my first couple flights, these motors have crazy power!
FC/ESC: Again, value. The mamba stacks have been absolutely awesome for me, with zero issues for the 1 year I have been in the hobby, and the price point is hard to beat.
VTX and Camera: The VTX may get swapped sooner than later already! I had this eachine TX805S since my first banggood order last year when I was just getting into the hobby and did not know anything.
I am looking forward to trying this camera in low light conditions.
Battery: I am looking for a higher capacity battery, but stock is currently low everywhere it seems. Hence, the 1800 on board. On my first flight I got 10 minutes on a very windy day. I'd like to try Li-ion to see how much more range can be acheived.
3D Printed Parts: My next investment will be converting my Ender 5 to direct drive. I hope it will help clean up these TPU prints.

Looking forward to learning more about this category of FPV drones and getting some cool cinematic landscape shots.
Enjoy!!
Very nice build!! I run these motors on 2 of my 7" builds, and they are without a doubt my favorite motors. They're so powerful, yet so smooth, and tons of throttle control. Plus they're beautiful! I love the build!!
Awesome build, I had been wanting those motors but can't justify spending the money on them right now. A month before there were release I already had upgraded to the brother hobby 2806.5 s. Tested the 8x4.5x3 hq props on my long range build the other day and they are amp hungry and heavy (15.5g a prop ~60% heavy than the 7"), need to test the 8" bi-blades next and then go with those or stick with 7". I think Kabab is also working on making a good 7" prop in the near future so look out for that as well.
AirbladeUAV has done it again and this time they've brought long range to the 5" class! Based on the popular Transformer Mini, the new Transformer 5" Ultralight adopts a lot of the same design philosophies with larger props and more payload capacity. It can fly upwards of 20 minutes on a 4 cell Li-Ion battery pack and in ideal conditions it's got a range of over 4 to 5 miles. In this guide I'll walk..
Read moreWith the release of the DJI FPV Drone cinematic FPV has become a lot more accessible, but you certainly don't want to crash a $750 drone! The QAV-CINE Freybott is a compact, lightweight cinematic FPV drone that can take a hit and keep going. It's a lot safer to fly indoors and around people. With a naked GoPro or the SMO 4k you can capture some great stabilized footage. In this guide I'll show you..

Very nice build! How did you connect the buzzer to the FC though?
Thank you! On the Mamba Flight Controller there is a designated pad for buzzer.
