Dont use the action cam (apeman), get something like a refurbished session 5 or runcam 5 with screen protector. With rpm filtering, it flies really nicely. Pretty durable and have bashed it around a bit, though no major crashes, just into wood and goalposts and stuff. Would recommend replacing frame with the apex or something as this only has 1 mounting option and its practically a copied design (originally it was an eachine wizard x220).
On the pic there is an impulsrc antenna but it has changed to the tbs triumph pro now.

I flew a wizard x220 frame (every single day it was operational) for the first 1 1/2 years of my current 6 year fpv journey. It is awesome. I watched so much youtube that I got convinced it was sub-par. I moved to other frames, and new electronics. Thought I was advancing.
All the way I would keep the wizard running. When new gear would come out that sounded great, but was so cheap I feared that it was too good to be true, in the wizard it would go. After all, if the wizard crashed it was not something of great value, and I had purchased lots of spare carbon for it, when it was my daily driver.
It only has one set of holes for mounting boards. That's it. That's the real drawback. The top plate is too thin, but you CAN find 2 mm versions of that top plate, to replace the comically flimsy stock 1.5 mm version. The bottom plate is also available in 3 mm. I ended up switching to those, and adding washers to the top of the standoffs directly behind the camera area. You have to shave down the standoffs to fit the washers and have the top plate sit flush, but after all that she's a TANK!
I just got done scavenging her for some parts about 2 weeks ago (trying out a flying wing for the first time) and the wizard frame is still legit. I like to have space/mounting holes for 2, or even 3 stacks in a quad this size, but you can get it all done in 1 stack with the height you have in this frame. There are ppl who like to slam their builds, and for a time I thought that was the way to go. The idea of centralizing the mass seems like an obvious decision for better handling/performance. Physics, right? Turns out, even though the battery is the single heaviest component, moving it down 8 or 10mm isn't huge. The FC is able to EASILY compensate for much more significant changes than that when you get to the weight/thrust/dimensions that we deal with in a mini-quad like this. A new pilot will likely not even be able to tell the difference. That isn't a slam on new pilots either. Honestly the difference is subtle, and there is SO much going on in the fist stages of learning that it's just not important.
Honestly after building ~30 different quads at this point, I know enough to say that the hype on youtube is just that. You have a good frame here. Don't let poeple that don't know any better, or are tasked with selling you new carbon, tell you any different.

p.s. I was embarrassed that I had this frame that ppl were trashing on youtube (...to sell me other frames) and I colored over the purple edging with sharpie. That was a mistake on my part. I have regrets there.
p.p.s. My wizard will fly again. Gotta test them new parts ;) On top of that I did eventually design some 3/d printed parts that make her a sleek and well thought out package, it took me years, but she doesn't look like a birds nest and the battery connector is solidly mounted so I don't have to hold it on the drone side to plug/unplug

Thanks for the reply. Yeh i know most is hype and yeh i haven't actually broke any part of the frame but i would prefer people to buy products made by fpv enthusiasts like impulserc instead of chinese companies. I know that eachine do make very good goggles but the frame is a coby of the source 1 essentially (correct me if i am wrong). I do love it non the less. I will probably upgrade to digital either to dji v3 or byte frost / next bytefrost when they come out thats why i would suggest a new frame. The lack of a 2nd mounting point restricts it a lot.

The wizard x220 is a clone of the lumenier QAV-R. I have a source one and it's a great frame, mounting holes for 3 stacks!! Would be an excellent choice for your next frame :)

AirbladeUAV has done it again and this time they've brought long range to the 5" class! Based on the popular Transformer Mini, the new Transformer 5" Ultralight adopts a lot of the same design philosophies with larger props and more payload capacity. It can fly upwards of 20 minutes on a 4 cell Li-Ion battery pack and in ideal conditions it's got a range of over 4 to 5 miles. In this guide I'll walk..

With the release of the DJI FPV Drone cinematic FPV has become a lot more accessible, but you certainly don't want to crash a $750 drone! The QAV-CINE Freybott is a compact, lightweight cinematic FPV drone that can take a hit and keep going. It's a lot safer to fly indoors and around people. With a naked GoPro or the SMO 4k you can capture some great stabilized footage. In this guide I'll show you..
