FPVCycle Prototype 5" frame (batch 2). Built pretty much to Kabab's specs - nothing too fancy. AUW w/ battery and GoPro 8 is 744g.
Looks great. How does it fly? Ive been interested in that frame and those motors.
Honestly, better than anything I've ever flown! I've never had such good throttle control! I like to think I know a thing or two and have spec'd out a few builds before. What I've learned, though, is that getting something that feels right takes a ton of experimentation. Now, I'm happy to let someone else invest that time and money and just reap the rewards. Kabab's put a lot of effort into getting to this build and it shows!
Thats great. I know what you mean about experimentation. Ive got a really good feel for the basic parts that I like and use - cameras, vtx, antennas, props ect. Motors and frames are entirely different. Lots of variables there. I know what I like in terms of feel but not always sure how to get it that way. It is especially tough right now with supply issues. I want to try the Moongoat frame and this Proto V2 but neither have been in stock. Ive been settling for what I can get rather than what I want and it is just costing me extra $$ and subpar builds. Thanks for the feedback, i think that will give me the patience to wait it out.
AirbladeUAV has done it again and this time they've brought long range to the 5" class! Based on the popular Transformer Mini, the new Transformer 5" Ultralight adopts a lot of the same design philosophies with larger props and more payload capacity. It can fly upwards of 20 minutes on a 4 cell Li-Ion battery pack and in ideal conditions it's got a range of over 4 to 5 miles. In this guide I'll walk..

The QAV-CINE Freybott is a compact, lightweight cinematic FPV drone that can take a hit and keep going. It's a lot safer to fly indoors and around people. With a naked GoPro or the SMO 4k you can capture some great stabilized footage. In this guide I'll show you..

What's durability like on the frame?
It's meant to be a balance between weight and performance. IMO the bottom plate is a bit thin for the arms. Arms are beefy and I never broke one, but I did crack the bottom plate where an arm attaches. Other than that it's been good!
