This is my 1st proper 7 inch build that is not using parts that I savaged from crashed quads.
So I think this should be my No-Compomise build, and spend a fortune on the parts, but it turns out I made a big compomise on weight........
OK, first off, I want a frame with plenty of space for extral-large battery and FC components
So i pick the Crocodile 7, the battery bay is big enough to hold stuff as long as 140mm, but one thing I missed is this frame had resonance oscillation problems with heavy motor.
To lift the bigger battery I choosed the Emax Eco II 2807 motor. Yeah, they feel heavy just by themselves.
It's 7-Inch,Why not make it long-range? So I orderd parts based on my understanding of how long-range flight......
Since I perfer using INAV as the FC firmware,I used the BN-880GPS, designed a TPU parts to hold the bigger GPS
And a custom Gopro mount to clear space for the battery bay.
After 3 hours of hard work, All the stuff are shuffled into the quad.
Yes, I finally realized that this thing is too heavy....
I don't want to change any major part of this quad, So the only way out is to remove the gopro and get a 4K hybrid cam
To solve the oscillation problem, I added 2 carbon filber plate to connect the front arm to the back ones.
And to make use the gyroflow, I added a secondary FC just to log the gyro info.
Well, one thing left is to get a good sunny day and maiden this thick boi
Update:
2021-04-02:
Caddx Tarsier seems to have overheating issue, the FPV feed have a small chance to turn all white after the quad powered on for a few min. Currently only had one case of FPV cut in hovering. I may have to replace this CAM.
2021-04-02:
Spot some noise in FPV feed, changed the wire to get Cam powered from secondary FC. Reduced some of the noise. Hopefully this can reduce the chance of FPV Feed Cut.
AirbladeUAV has done it again and this time they've brought long range to the 5" class! Based on the popular Transformer Mini, the new Transformer 5" Ultralight adopts a lot of the same design philosophies with larger props and more payload capacity. It can fly upwards of 20 minutes on a 4 cell Li-Ion battery pack and in ideal conditions it's got a range of over 4 to 5 miles. In this guide I'll walk..

The QAV-CINE Freybott is a compact, lightweight cinematic FPV drone that can take a hit and keep going. It's a lot safer to fly indoors and around people. With a naked GoPro or the SMO 4k you can capture some great stabilized footage. In this guide I'll show you..
