This is my version of dave_c's #nanolongrange.

2021-04-07: I crashed and broke the frame a few days ago. I took the opportunity to change out the FC from a JHEMCU 1-2S AIO to a HGLRC Zeus5 1-2S AIO since I had to rebuild anyway. My main reason for this is the former is only rated for 0.5A@5V while the latter is rated for 1A@5V. This is important because I'm running both my receiver and vtx off the FC.

I've none of the Sony batteries on hand but I've a ton o the 2S Nano-Tech 300mAh LiPos laying around. I wonder if a 2S variant would be possible and what the results would be?

Edit: Other parts i have on hand...

Betafpv 1103-11000kv motors
Betafpv 1-2S FC (AIO i think)
ANT micro camera
3" Gemfan props (dual blade, low pitch)

Can print PLA / ABS easy enough.

nice. update us how the zeus5 works out for you. I have a 3" 1s build based on that board with crossfire nano and unify pro32 nano and the phoenix 2 nano. All are running off the 5v rail and I get brown outs when I punch and am on 100mw on the vtx. My motors are 1202.5 11,600kv. If I'm down in 25mw I'll still get a brown out when I have a prop strike with a ghost branch.

Nice! I have a couple frames printed, but haven't finished a build on one yet. How do you like it?

It's a lot of fun but also a bit of a different experience. It doesn't rip like my other quads but the battery lasts a lot longer.

Exactly how it should be. Thanks for the info.

AirbladeUAV has done it again and this time they've brought long range to the 5" class! Based on the popular Transformer Mini, the new Transformer 5" Ultralight adopts a lot of the same design philosophies with larger props and more payload capacity. It can fly upwards of 20 minutes on a 4 cell Li-Ion battery pack and in ideal conditions it's got a range of over 4 to 5 miles. In this guide I'll walk..

With the release of the DJI FPV Drone cinematic FPV has become a lot more accessible, but you certainly don't want to crash a $750 drone! The QAV-CINE Freybott is a compact, lightweight cinematic FPV drone that can take a hit and keep going. It's a lot safer to fly indoors and around people. With a naked GoPro or the SMO 4k you can capture some great stabilized footage. In this guide I'll show you..
