This is the first drone I ever built. And it even flies! I'm super excited about that :D
Heavily inspired by this build: WarPig 120 1S by quad66
Some moments of my first attempts to fly (after 20 hours of flying in Liftoff simulator):
UPDATE: I had some problems with TXLOSS, the reason was loose antenna which eventually got chopped by propellers. Then I found this amazing blog post FIXING 2.4GHZ RADIO RECEIVER ANTENNA and no problems with signal since then :)
Added couple photos with antenna fixed.
Also some progress with flying and crashing:
Love this frame and the motors. If you switch to a BT2.0 or to an XT30 battery connector, you will like this build even more (less voltage sag, more flight time).
How is the range on the SPI receiver?
Hi, thanks for the advice! I'll probably postpone this upgrade because I don't think I'll understand the difference: D This is my first quad and I've only flown it twice - bad weather these days :(
I’m not sure if the range of SPI receiver is good or not so good - again I don’t have anything to compare to. But several times I had an unexpected rxloss, I suspect my poor antenna installation could be the reason :D
AirbladeUAV has done it again and this time they've brought long range to the 5" class! Based on the popular Transformer Mini, the new Transformer 5" Ultralight adopts a lot of the same design philosophies with larger props and more payload capacity. It can fly upwards of 20 minutes on a 4 cell Li-Ion battery pack and in ideal conditions it's got a range of over 4 to 5 miles. In this guide I'll walk..
Read moreWith the release of the DJI FPV Drone cinematic FPV has become a lot more accessible, but you certainly don't want to crash a $750 drone! The QAV-CINE Freybott is a compact, lightweight cinematic FPV drone that can take a hit and keep going. It's a lot safer to fly indoors and around people. With a naked GoPro or the SMO 4k you can capture some great stabilized footage. In this guide I'll show you..

Congrats, your girl is patient to sit through all your flights haha
Haha, I guess I would have lost the drone after the first take-off if my wife hadn't seen where it fell - I had no idea which direction to go when I took off the goggles :D
