After I finished the X4 I quickly realized that it was too weak to carry a decent (BMPCC 6K) video camera. So I expanded my project with 4 more motors. A motor plate and two eighth propeller guards.
So I didn't have to move the engines. I used flat hexagon head screws.
The antennas for TBS 868MHz and DJI 5.8GHz can now all be unscrewed. Which makes transport a lot easier.
So that the cam holder has space in the middle, the two TBS antennas had to be moved to the outside. So that the antennas really hold, they are secured with a TPU mating thread. (previously only squeezed)
The cam holder has to carry about 1.5 - 2kg, so I wanted a hinge on the flat side to achieve more stability.
The cam holder consists of a carbon plate and TPU elements and is aligned in its position so that the center of gravity of the camera / lens coincides with the center of gravity of the copter.
In order to improve the flight characteristics even further, a lipo plate was installed on the underside for 2x 4000 - 5000mAh 6S lipos. as a counterweight, so to speak.
The next days / weeks we will work on the tuning so that I can also show videos here.
Update 09.05.21 Maiden
Update 23.05.21 First Time with the BMPPC 6K. PIDs need to be tune. Colorgrading! And i messt up with the sharpness.
Update 2.6.21 Second real flight
Hi, ran the big boy yesterday. The sharpness fits this time, but there was dust on the lens. I also tried different stabilizations. Unfortunately, the steps in the exposure can still be seen, so I have to run again. Otherwise, I actually like it a lot. :-) With YT 4K60fps should be available.
AirbladeUAV has done it again and this time they've brought long range to the 5" class! Based on the popular Transformer Mini, the new Transformer 5" Ultralight adopts a lot of the same design philosophies with larger props and more payload capacity. It can fly upwards of 20 minutes on a 4 cell Li-Ion battery pack and in ideal conditions it's got a range of over 4 to 5 miles. In this guide I'll walk..

The QAV-CINE Freybott is a compact, lightweight cinematic FPV drone that can take a hit and keep going. It's a lot safer to fly indoors and around people. With a naked GoPro or the SMO 4k you can capture some great stabilized footage. In this guide I'll show you..
