Out of the Box Review

key highlights :

  1. It's HD, for sure. Nothing compared to analog, it´s digital with a decent quality and it´s enjoyable. That said, Fatshark should push for better cameras (& lenses) on a micro size (no more nanos please). I had few glitches when flying around my house, but find out that with a x2air antenna from TrueRC mounted on the receiver the image is crystal clear. when Immersion RC released their LZR mini panel, the idea was good but the product was not as efficient as expected. those panels are the one you can find in the Shark Byte RX5. Maybe the major upgrades for the Shark Byte thingie will come from new dedicated antennas and cameras ! this will push the game forward !
  2. A delightful flight experience, perfect for mid range exploration. You can easily feel a new level of details in your goggles, bringing in your usual rides new horizons with a better view on the world. It´s an upgrade to the HDO serie, with available components on the market right now.
  3. What is wrong with it ? better and larger cameras are needed, as we said. Needs a stronger and 800mW+ VTX designed to 20x20mm frame configuration. Manufacturers of antennas should start thinking about a new mounted patch antennas system on the RX5 (as both LZR mini patch antennas are linked with u.FL connectors to the VRX) for a solid reception. And the screws to attached the fan cap needs to be longer to safely mount the RX5 panel on the goggles. The whole system needs more durability, it looks kind of cheap when in your hands.

Could you share how you mounted the TX5S.1 VTX sideways like that? Thanks

AirbladeUAV has done it again and this time they've brought long range to the 5" class! Based on the popular Transformer Mini, the new Transformer 5" Ultralight adopts a lot of the same design philosophies with larger props and more payload capacity. It can fly upwards of 20 minutes on a 4 cell Li-Ion battery pack and in ideal conditions it's got a range of over 4 to 5 miles. In this guide I'll walk..

With the release of the DJI FPV Drone cinematic FPV has become a lot more accessible, but you certainly don't want to crash a $750 drone! The QAV-CINE Freybott is a compact, lightweight cinematic FPV drone that can take a hit and keep going. It's a lot safer to fly indoors and around people. With a naked GoPro or the SMO 4k you can capture some great stabilized footage. In this guide I'll show you..
