My first build, I learnt a lot and spent a lot of money too. Ive enjoyed building this and am midway through another currently. I originally learnt to solder 20 years ago so this was quite nerve racking as I didnt want to brick my new expensive toy.
My main aim was to build something that was under 250 grams and that was cheap and easy to fly. Sadly the weight has crept up due to the prop gaurds so I use this to fly indoors to build my flying skills up before I take my next quad outdoors. I could remove the gaurds and drop to under 250 grams and fly outdoor but then I wouldnt be able to fly indoors in the rain. The video quality is recorded off the Attitude V6 which is low quality and not ideal so a DVR or a Shark Byte upgrade would be a good solution and something I'm planning in the future.
I used 25mm shorter standoffs too save some weight and reduce the distance from the top and bottom plate. I could shave off another couple of millimeters and move the vtx to the rear frame holes but the weight is evenly distributed over the centre.
i was originally using a Li-Ion battery to fly but after a few minutes the quad would lose so much power that it wouldnt fly above 1 inch. These motors are super powerful and this quad flies for 5 minutes on a Tattu 850mAh 3S. I think I will change the frame to something more race worthy once it gets wrecked.
AirbladeUAV has done it again and this time they've brought long range to the 5" class! Based on the popular Transformer Mini, the new Transformer 5" Ultralight adopts a lot of the same design philosophies with larger props and more payload capacity. It can fly upwards of 20 minutes on a 4 cell Li-Ion battery pack and in ideal conditions it's got a range of over 4 to 5 miles. In this guide I'll walk..

The QAV-CINE Freybott is a compact, lightweight cinematic FPV drone that can take a hit and keep going. It's a lot safer to fly indoors and around people. With a naked GoPro or the SMO 4k you can capture some great stabilized footage. In this guide I'll show you..
