This is a custom version of the Flywoo HEXplorer.

MetrosHEX in based on the original build (same frame, same stack and motors), but it mounts a more powerful VTX with respect to the original one: the RUSHTANK ultimate mini (MAX : 800 mW).
In order to organize the internal spaces we've designed a custom cage to keep safe the VTX and RX from props, still providing enough airflow to cool down the VTX.

Being the board so powerful and tiny, there were initial overheating concerns during the cold GPS lock phase. These problems increased (obviously) with the silicone coating layer (reaching more than 75 celsius degrees every time with air temperature of about 25 celsius degrees). Flywoo customer support reassured me that until 85 celsius degrees the board should be fine and that it is quite normal to reach those temperatures on the bench. When it flies indeed the core temperature returns to more acceptable values (like 40/45 celsius degrees).

Just the USB plugged in heats the core to about 60 degrees in less than one minute! That's a drone that needs fresh air more often than others.

Flywoo work on this build is awesome. We really like the frame and we were surprised a lot by its performance in terms of agility and endurance.
This guy can fly for about 20mins with a 4S Li-Ion (with "averagish" throttle management).
