This is the third quad Ive built from scratch. I wanted a larger long range setup to try out beside my little 4" explorer, hopefully it pans out. As of right now it has zero flights on it, Im going through BF setup now. This is just a project Ive been chipping away at throwing parts on it here and there. Looking forward to getting up in the air though.
I have modified a set of FATSHARK Scouts so I can run two external antennas. I made a couple of 5 turn helicals and like to see how far out I can go with them. The quad is set up with a 600MW VTX and a Crossfire Diversity receiver with twin Immortal Ts, one vertical, one horizontal as you can see. I also have a few different VTX antennas. Im definietly diggin VAS antennas, but I also use True RC. Im still all kind of new to this game, so any advise will be considered.
I bought a couple of those big ass Run Cam cameras for cheap, Lumenier edition 1200s, so whatever that means, but I figured I give em a try, if not I have a CADDX Ratel 2 I can stick up there. I stuck a GOPRO Session 5 mount on it for now, but Ive got a HERO 7 mount too for it I think.
--- Any advice on battery or battery size would be a great help. I know a bunch of you guys/girls have gone through all the mistakes already, Im just getting my feet wet.
Besides that, these things are a blast, I think I have 7 of them now ! LoL !
AirbladeUAV has done it again and this time they've brought long range to the 5" class! Based on the popular Transformer Mini, the new Transformer 5" Ultralight adopts a lot of the same design philosophies with larger props and more payload capacity. It can fly upwards of 20 minutes on a 4 cell Li-Ion battery pack and in ideal conditions it's got a range of over 4 to 5 miles. In this guide I'll walk..

The QAV-CINE Freybott is a compact, lightweight cinematic FPV drone that can take a hit and keep going. It's a lot safer to fly indoors and around people. With a naked GoPro or the SMO 4k you can capture some great stabilized footage. In this guide I'll show you..

here is a link to my 7" build that has flight times for different batteries and weights, using the same motors

I currently only have 4s 1500mah batteries so that is what I am using. I liked using them in parallel to get longer flights! I am about to build two 21700 4s packs, so I can really endurance test! Good luck, and let me know if you try yours on 6s!
Cool. Thank you. Never thought of running batteries in parallel, just maintaining the voltage, but increasing your mah.... Hmmmm. Funny thing is I only use 4s or less because my charger doesnt charge past that ! LoL ! Ill have to get this thing squared away. Im also still undecided on BF or iNAV. I guess position hold and a real RTH are advantages of INAV though.
Thanks again.

BF or iNav is definitely a tough choice. I felt that the stock tune was better on iNav, and setting up RTH isn't too much work. The only issue is I am having trouble tuning my quad because the blackblox logging was not working for iNav, but was working for BF. Im hoping it is fixed next update...
