This was a fun build. have been looking at tron80 as i am in NY and winter is coming. Vdeos showing jello in camera kept me away. Saw that they just improved the frame to address so i bought two carbon playes and removed most of the press nuts from the top most plate.

the result is an arcing of the plate without the press nuts. there is a tiny bit of visible light near these press nuts however that is the top of the arc and it stiffens the assembly. motor screws were harder to get in but its worth it. i can barely budge it when tryingto twist the frame.

Polar nano bought me a gram and a half on weight but add 5 for 2nd top plate. I used pyrodrones 1103.5 motors at 8022kv. 380mah 3s GNB batteries. Thrust was twice what the stock tmotors would have made. For flight controller i went for that new jhemcu 12 a whoop fc aio. has 12a esc, blackbox and 2 available uarts. supported my polar nano / vista and weighs only 5 grams.

Mcmaster should be delivering my 1.6mmx6mm screws to hold the vista to the frame Tmotor did include m1.6x4 and they are too short. i have titanium screws coming for motors. used glass filled fiber screws for the FC. Titanium should gain me 4 grams of lightness. ill link flight video soon.

2022 Edit, this was an okay quad but not that great. I like fast. This was like 1/3 - /1/2 throttle all the time. Felt heavy. So I took it apart and will show what it became when I am fnished building.

Based on the popular Transformer Mini, the new Transformer 5" Ultralight adopts a lot of the same design philosophies with larger props and more payload capacity. It can fly upwards of 20 minutes on a 4 cell Li-Ion battery pack and in ideal conditions it's got a range of over 4 to 5 miles. In this guide I'll walk..

With the release of the DJI FPV Drone cinematic FPV has become a lot more accessible, but you certainly don't want to crash a $750 drone! The QAV-CINE Freybott is a compact, lightweight cinematic FPV drone that can take a hit and keep going. It's a lot safer to fly indoors and around people. With a naked GoPro or the SMO 4k you can capture some great stabilized footage. In this guide I'll show you..
