this should be quiet on 3s and a monster on 4s
6.6g x 8 = 52.8g of just motor on this 2"!
16x16 20a 6s stack? F7 and 8 motor outputs? crazy stuff. Now this can be built digital without nearly as much finangling.
them tiny tiny soldering points on a 16x16. pictures definitely tell a picture that is larger than life.
armattan's mongoose cast aluminum standoff with integrated camera mount fits perfectly for a 14mm camera. The main bolts of the frame are 24mm apart and the standoff brings the mount points in 5mm on each side. just perfect! No camera protection though but this thing is going to be built very crash worthy so should be ok.
Mounting the vista unit is going to be a pain. unless you go naked and trim the outer 25mmx25mm bolt holes off, the entire unit only fits in one direction, with the usb-c port facing forward or back.
Finished! so the middle ESC board and the vista are like half a millimeter apart. I put a piece of insulation tape between the two as they do contact at the limits of the soft mounting. The armattan stand-off is nice but thick so I'm unable to use the more forward 20x20 mount point which would have put a healthy gap between the two stacks. Anyway, it fit in the end with the vista's USB port facing forward...which you just need to remove the camera to have access to but I haven't needed to update a vista in over a year.
8 Motors, 8 props, 32 prop bolts. so easy to get a motor direct, prop direction wrong...and having the stack upside down doesn't help. check and double check!
something funny that happened was that once the vista was hooked up the vifly shortsaver 2 kept tripping. even when I upped the current to 2a. after checking and double checking everything, i plugged in a weak, storage charged 2s...woila, the vista booted up. subsequently, the shortsaver started to work again...so not sure why the vista needed an initial bump of current? so odd.
need to sort out a way to mount a gopro

AirbladeUAV has done it again and this time they've brought long range to the 5" class! Based on the popular Transformer Mini, the new Transformer 5" Ultralight adopts a lot of the same design philosophies with larger props and more payload capacity. It can fly upwards of 20 minutes on a 4 cell Li-Ion battery pack and in ideal conditions it's got a range of over 4 to 5 miles. In this guide I'll walk..

The QAV-CINE Freybott is a compact, lightweight cinematic FPV drone that can take a hit and keep going. It's a lot safer to fly indoors and around people. With a naked GoPro or the SMO 4k you can capture some great stabilized footage. In this guide I'll show you..
