AirbladeUAV has done it again and this time they've brought long range to the 5" class! Based on the popular Transformer Mini, the new Transformer 5" Ultralight adopts a lot of the same design philosophies with larger props and more payload capacity. It can fly upwards of 20 minutes on a 4 cell Li-Ion battery pack and in ideal conditions it's got a range of over 4 to 5 miles. In this guide I'll walk..

The QAV-CINE Freybott is a compact, lightweight cinematic FPV drone that can take a hit and keep going. It's a lot safer to fly indoors and around people. With a naked GoPro or the SMO 4k you can capture some great stabilized footage. In this guide I'll show you..

Very cool!
I reached out to Sajed to ask about any future plans for a freestyle version of this frame. While he said he had no plans for a freestyle version, he did send me the step files so I could remix his design.
I took a very simple approach for creating a freestyle version and am printing now to test. Because of the simple original design, it was very easy to tweak to fit a Caddix Vista.
Tried a couple different ways to upload a photo of the freestyle design, but no love. Once I test, I'll upload the design and share...
Then I'm already curious to see what you do with the original version.
What would be quite good with the original design,
that the arm would not converge conically in the direction of the M3 spacer bolts.
If you press the arms in a horizontal direction, they have some play,
which translates into slight vibrations when flying. In itself,
the design is kept simple and yet somehow very special.
I do not know what exactly makes it, but I like the design very much.
If you release a free style version, let me know,
or if you need someone to test the frame in addition to you. ;-)
Greetings Marcus W.
Sure thing! I left the arms as-is and only modified the top/bottom plate. I can shoot it over to you if you want to take a look/print.... Mine should be finished printing here in about 20 minutes or so.
Yes very much, would be happy. Maybe I'll make a setup out of it right away.
Cool man- I can email this new plate to you, send to you via telegram, etc. What's your preference?
I've got the thing all assembled and I think the arms need a re-work, so working on that right now, but I think this thing is flyable...

Now you were faster with your Google drive than I was with my answer. 😬
Will print your plates tomorrow and start a new build.
Thanks for your template. I would have a few ideas for the arms.
Cool man- sounds good!
I just did a quick remix of the arms- will push them up into the google drive folder for you. Basically, I adjusted the arms to mount to the second set of standoffs. Only concern is that they're too close to the body now for 5" props...
Just imported a model of a 5" prop, and it looks like I will need to lengthen the arms a bit. Going to take a break and work on this more a little later...
Going to upload the freestyle arm v2- think this one will work!

Just downloaded the files. I'm curious how the print will be tomorrow.
Here we go- I just pushed v4 of those freestyle arms with more support.
The wall at the hole is a bit thin, do you think it will hold anything? Can you reinforce it like in the previous version? And what might look good, if you could smooth out the two waves from the main plate, then it would look like the original part, but just longer. I hope you know what I mean. Where you put your extra M3 bolt, you have a notch in there.
Yes- easy to smooth out the wave.
"The wall at the hole is a bit thin"
This site is stupid- there was a LOT more to my reply above, but it all got chopped out when I posted it.
