After my crux3's escs started failing randomly, I decided I wanted to build something a little powerful, and at the same time really wanted to be able to record HD video. I really liked the look of the armattan tadpole, so decided to pick it up along with some parts for a 3" build. It ended up costing more that it should have, but I really like how it flies and the loris is pretty good dvr for a split cam.
I get about 5-6 minutes of pretty fast freestyle, chasing disc golf disc etc., and can easily hit over 10 minutes cruising on tattu 450mAh 4s batteries, these motors are super efficient. AUW is about 160 grams, which is heavier than I wanted, but it does have large motors and a split camera, so I can't really complain.
I jammed the reciever between the camera and aio stack, and stuck the vtx below the FC. I'm not sold on this, as it seems like there is a lot of potential for interference, but it was pretty much the only way I could make this abomination of parts fit in this surprisingly small frame. The video is decent quality, definitely hampered more by my lack of good goggles than the actual transmission. Also, no making fun of my terrible soldering, at least it flies (the observant may see one of the motor wires is already disconnected in one of the photos).
I got it temporarily stuck in the top of a 100+ foot pine tree a few weeks ago, and while turtlemode saved me I wasn't able to rearm and save from crashing, and one of the frames arms cracked. I got a replacement from Armattan (really impressed by their warranties), but it took a while to arrive from Taiwan and I still haven't had time to put it back together properly. I also want to upgrade to one of the tiny elrs modules with an smd antenna, hopefully that will deal with some of my cable woes. However, I have been turned off by all the bad reviews of tx modules that don;t take months to arrive, so I haven't pulled the trigger yet.

AirbladeUAV has done it again and this time they've brought long range to the 5" class! Based on the popular Transformer Mini, the new Transformer 5" Ultralight adopts a lot of the same design philosophies with larger props and more payload capacity. It can fly upwards of 20 minutes on a 4 cell Li-Ion battery pack and in ideal conditions it's got a range of over 4 to 5 miles. In this guide I'll walk..

The QAV-CINE Freybott is a compact, lightweight cinematic FPV drone that can take a hit and keep going. It's a lot safer to fly indoors and around people. With a naked GoPro or the SMO 4k you can capture some great stabilized footage. In this guide I'll show you..
