This is my first build, to be built from the ashes of a Nurk's Shendrones Squirt v2.1. I crashed it badly and destroyed the ducts and two arms. Everything else is tiptop and I've been wanting a longer range frame for a while now. I'll begin with digital fpv but may convert to analog vtx eventually.
It's going to be built on a RushFPV Aquila 5" frame. It's a very light deadcat frame that supports AIOs and 20x20 stacks and comes with support for a Crossfire antenna on the front metal casing, below the camera (where you want it when rescue mode kicks in). Alt Tag
At 6s, the rcInpower 1507 2680kV motors will be pushed to the max at full throttle on 5 inch props, but it is a light LR cruising build after all, not a freestyler and won't be running a GoPro yet. I'll experiment with 4S LiPo as well, and LiIon eventually. I will try and keep this build updated as often as possible and include some videos.

Build log and parts list created. Shendrones Squirt disassembled. I scavenged everything but the frame and props. Stuff ordered (frame, gps, fpv antenna and props).

Received the parts. At first glance, I'll have to desolder the capacitor to place it up the battery lead near the plug. There simply is not enough place between my whoop sized stack and the Caddx Vista. I'll print an extension for the Rush Cherry antenna since I don't think it's long enough. I can manage to have it stick out near full length (12cm) and I hope to have a better video signal this way. May have to switch to a higher dBi too.. The proximity of the ImmortalT antenna to the front carbon-fiber arms worries me a bit.

Welp I finished it up today. I managed to put the stack backwards so the capacitor is now snuggly fitted between the stack and the camera. I stuck a heatshrink wrap around the Rush Cherry and have it sticking out quite far. It passed the short stopper test and I flipped the gyro in Betaflight. I'm taking it out for prelim tests tomorrow. Maiden in a few days.
Update: No maiden since I shorted the FC while trying to plug usb with the batt plugged in. Dumb me.

AirbladeUAV has done it again and this time they've brought long range to the 5" class! Based on the popular Transformer Mini, the new Transformer 5" Ultralight adopts a lot of the same design philosophies with larger props and more payload capacity. It can fly upwards of 20 minutes on a 4 cell Li-Ion battery pack and in ideal conditions it's got a range of over 4 to 5 miles. In this guide I'll walk..

With the release of the DJI FPV Drone cinematic FPV has become a lot more accessible, but you certainly don't want to crash a $750 drone! The QAV-CINE Freybott is a compact, lightweight cinematic FPV drone that can take a hit and keep going. It's a lot safer to fly indoors and around people. With a naked GoPro or the SMO 4k you can capture some great stabilized footage. In this guide I'll show you..
