Had my old Mob7 FC RX die, and the backup board refused to flash the brilliant Betaflight performance edition, so i figured it was time for an upgrade. I still wanted the small whoop feel, i mainly run it on 1S for indoor flights, and crusing around.
Grabbed some props, frame, and spare motors for the Aliexpress link (frame) (not sure why its in french lol).
As im converting to using eLRS in all the things i decided to pickup an FC with it inbuild. The happymodel one is not ideal, as it needs a new camera, but i can't be bothered figuring out the mob7's cam/VTX cabling for another FC. (Im new, i get a pass lol). Plus it has everything onboard, ESC, FC, RX, VTX. Just means i can't exactly blow it up.
Im currently using the Gemfan 1635's, and they're working a treat. BF 4.3 gave me a little trouble, as eLRS needed an update to V2.0, i grabbed the file from here and its working a treat.
Bunch of lines on the VTX sadly, i think its due to the eLRS RX, not sure what i can do for a fix.
The CNHL batteries are working well, though they shift around in flight due to it now being a 1s.
Had to chop and rewire the camera cables, just gotta splice two connectors together to get the right plugs on each end. Camera fits(ish), just takes a bit of wiggling and it wont screw in, though it is held tight. The orginal camera cover also still fitted, and while it is a bit loose, i'd take the extra protection.
Also flipped the board 180, as otherwise the VTX antenna is coming out the front of the quad.
Id also highly reccomend the whoop juice board, makes mangaging all those batteries a breeze.
BF 4.3 is also working really well, i slapped on the whoop justice preset and its been working a treat. JESC also flashed without a problem, so RPM filtering and 48KHz as well.
AirbladeUAV has done it again and this time they've brought long range to the 5" class! Based on the popular Transformer Mini, the new Transformer 5" Ultralight adopts a lot of the same design philosophies with larger props and more payload capacity. It can fly upwards of 20 minutes on a 4 cell Li-Ion battery pack and in ideal conditions it's got a range of over 4 to 5 miles. In this guide I'll walk..
