Heard alot of great things about the Catalyst Machine Works Banggod and I couldn't resist NOT adding it to my fleet.
While picking the components for this build I have drawn inspiration from Paul Nurkkala's Banggod, an incredible build to sling GoPro's like they're next to nothing, leading me to choose the BH 2507 1850kv paired with the Gemfan 51466. Despite the HEAVY AUW of 969 grams this rig was built for the 'ease of chasing'- fast cars, bikes, boats, fast things with NO compomises. This build was made to be my go-to 5" film making rig so two identical builds were a must.
The build was mildly tight, I VHB'd the Nano Rx under the airunit, VHB'd + ziptied the ViFly Finder on the DJI camera vertical plate, didn't get to use the original layout to route the power cables. I didn't really like the options for mounting the airunit antennas given by CMW, I prefer V type mounting (either horizontally or vertically), good thing I found Bopiloot's 3D DJI Banggod prints, We printed the antenna mount he had along with the airunit holder. I chose the components for this build with the intent of having identical components as my cinelifters for the sake of having more backups.
The build was not all rainbows and butterflies, I actually managed to break one of the Matek F722's HD JST female connector AND that was not the only hitch in the build... I fried BOTH Matek F722's while on the test bench, I didn't realize I had to repin the JST connectors from the Hobbywing 60a's to the Mateks, fortunately I had a bunch of Matek's I've saved up for my cinelifter builds laying around. With every finished or unfinished build, you learn new things along the way.
Here's to more JST connector repins,

3D Prints were printed by my homie Andre from Drone Hub PH
Parts were either from Pyrodrone, GetFPV, Race Day Quads, Peter from PinoyFPV, JC from JCFPV
LiPo's were custom orders from Kaiju Power
Workshop is Hitch Cycles
I really like your builds. That is super clean. I ended up going with these prints for my 5" Banggod. I don't pay for stl files very often, but these all fit together so clean, like legos. I decided to run them. https://cults3d.com/en/3d-model/various/dji-fpv-cmw-banggod-upgrade-kit
That being said, I actually like your build more.. lol. Do you have any issues with the weight of it, on a 5" prop? I kind of put it with my backup quads, after not putting much time on it, just because of the auw. Probably too many conversations with Bob Roogie talking about saving weight, over the last year of him designing frames probably scared me away from it lol. But yea, you are able to do gigs with a fully loaded Banggod, and a gopro 10 from the sounds of it? Makes me want to revisit mine. Thanks for sharing!!
Hey! Thank you my good sir, appreciate it. I try to make my builds look like as if they were from factory (if that makes any sense). The prints were excellent, I myself as well, would not pay for 3D files but damn I just couldn’t pass on these. The prints from CMW for the DJI antenna just weren’t cutting it, Bopiloot’s solution was just ultimately better.
I don’t have much of an issue with weight since I like heavier quads, I like feeling the momentum guide me into a maneuver. The weight to me gives almost a “floaty” feeling which I really go for since it kind of makes flying feel like I’m bunnyhopping. I was talking to Russel Spurlock of Furious Pugs about his Banggod 5” and he has also been using it for gigs and such with similar motors as I did in this build.
I think of drones (aside from race drones) as buggies. Aero don’t really make a difference if you can slap more power on it, looks to be the case for this build. Id say having 2207’s or similar on this frame with a GP10 and all the 3D prints, I don’t think it’ll be as enjoyable to fly if you were to use a bigger motor like the 2507 + Gemfan 51466 combo.
Thanks again for the comment, let me know how your Banggod build goes! Cheers!
Oh cool! So you're going to print off those ones from Cults3d too? That would be great! I'll post mine when I finish it up, I hope you update pics with the new prints! They can be easily modified for a Project399 SuperG as well, if you fly one of those, or know anyone who does. It's a pretty clean solution for the Air Unit+antennas, etc. Hey, thanks for the quick reply!
AirbladeUAV has done it again and this time they've brought long range to the 5" class! Based on the popular Transformer Mini, the new Transformer 5" Ultralight adopts a lot of the same design philosophies with larger props and more payload capacity. It can fly upwards of 20 minutes on a 4 cell Li-Ion battery pack and in ideal conditions it's got a range of over 4 to 5 miles. In this guide I'll walk..

The QAV-CINE Freybott is a compact, lightweight cinematic FPV drone that can take a hit and keep going. It's a lot safer to fly indoors and around people. With a naked GoPro or the SMO 4k you can capture some great stabilized footage. In this guide I'll show you..

Man black and orange looks sick! Especially on the Banggod! Sickest freestyle frame ever! Great job!
