Babytooth Build with Betafpv expressLRS AIO V2 (ELRS)

First micro build and it turned out great! I wanted something that I could fly anywhere, fly aggresevly, and also let others try out and not have to worry about breaking when it crashes. I went with the Betafpv 1-2s 12a V2 aio w/ Expresslrs so I wouldnt have to buy an RX, and I'm also not a fan of integrated VTX's. If youre in US or Canada and want fast shipping I found the FC at AirbladeUAV.com and they worked really well with me. The first one I recieved would shake aggresevly along the yaw axis, so much that it was unflyable and ended up being because of a faulty gyro, after a week of intense troubleshooting I contacted airbladeUAV and they sent me a new one that works great now.
(sidenote this is my second build, the first being a 6s. plz excuse spelling errors:)

As far as the parts go everything works great! The antenna fits nicely ontop of the canopy and is secured well with a ziptie. The Larva X canopy canopy was a gamble but it fits great and sheilds the camera really well which was a priority for me since I plan on getting sendy with this. But be sure to have some extra spacers on hand to lift the canopy up a bit because the camera can get pressed to the vtx and will get hot if not given enough of a buffer. I like the rush tiny tank vtx but it likes to set itself into pitmode, but youtube has the answers for that. Soldering the Camera directly through the vtx ended up being easier than through the FC and the signal range has been great. The baby ratel 2 camera is amazing and handles pretty well in lowlight which I thought I diddnt care for untill I had it and now I love night flying:).

The main reason I wanted to post the build is to put some info out there on this FC. Its not very user frendly out of the box and its relativly new so theres not alot of info out there, hopefully this helps somebody out:) (Ill put links to the websites at the bottom)
To bind Expresslrs I had to go to the express lrs website and search "spi recievers" , on that page it will let you type in your binding phrase and translate it into a cli command that you enter into betaflight and from there it should connect (no need to update the rx or even use the ELRS Configurator at all).
The other issue I ran into is Dshot wouldnt work if smart audio was enabled, I had to contact betafpv about it and they told me to enter "set dshot_bitbang = off" then "save" and that got it working.
The last thing is be sure to update the firmware to the newest version. I had some rx connection issues untill I did that and now its working flawlessly. The betafpv website shows the details for which firmware to download on the same page where you go to buy the FC, just scroll down and it has plenty of info (be sure to enable "show unstable releases" in betaflight and then you should be able to find the correct Target firmware.
Finally if youre getting some prop wash or wobbles on high throttle, the FPV Cycle reccomended PID tune for the Kebab babytooth build worked great for me and it flies amazing:)

I really love this build and am having a blast with it! It really lets you bang it around without breaking anything and still allows for some fun casual freestyle maneuvers

Ok, trying to get smart audio to work for me was a mistake. noting the advice you gave regarding smart audio and dshot bitbang I tried to turn on dshot bitbang and it worked but maybe messing with turning it on and off too much or because of the beta version of betaflight that I'm using caused my VTX to fry, checking its pins with a multimeter showed that V+ and ground were shorted so I dismounted it from the sled it and the short went away. I tried with smart audio again and the same happened but unfortunately the VTX did not recover. Moral of the story: betafpv made a decent board but smartaudio has some problems, forget about it and set dshot_bitbang = off.

I just built a new babytooth yesterday using a Betafpv ELRS F4 1S 12A AIO Brushless Flight Controller, I had it connected, working, I even armed it and everything was fine. Then I tried to add a new tune through a diff file.

Hi, thanks for posting your build. I have a question, I am using a similar setup as yours and have the same FC and VTX, did you manage to get smart audio to work? for some reason betaflight says "VTX not ready" and smart audio does not work.

Thanks,

Hello, this build looks great and would like to attempt this. One question - is the capacitor required? Also, I like the way you integrated it in the pigtail.

Thanks! and I'm not super well educated on the topic but I would say probably not for a 1s build like this, though since its an AIO board I wanted to protect the esc's as much as I could to avoid having to buy a whole new board if one burns out. Ive burnt 2 esc's now on my 6s build so I'm alittle overly-cautious

Ok, so this is LEGIT quad-porn.
First you see the motor wires soldered into the FC like a damn wizard.
Then you see the way the whole vTx/antenna are wired/mounted/stowed.
Then you see the receiver antenna mounted ENTIRELY WITH HEAT SHRINK!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
lost it
Chonkin' big motors for the size of the querd.
1s, so you know you can fly it anywhere, and ELRS so you can fly it as far as the video will take you.
Cheap. Whole thing is legit cheap, and the batteries.... oh so cheap!
Perfection.

AirbladeUAV has done it again and this time they've brought long range to the 5" class! Based on the popular Transformer Mini, the new Transformer 5" Ultralight adopts a lot of the same design philosophies with larger props and more payload capacity. It can fly upwards of 20 minutes on a 4 cell Li-Ion battery pack and in ideal conditions it's got a range of over 4 to 5 miles. In this guide I'll walk..

With the release of the DJI FPV Drone cinematic FPV has become a lot more accessible, but you certainly don't want to crash a $750 drone! The QAV-CINE Freybott is a compact, lightweight cinematic FPV drone that can take a hit and keep going. It's a lot safer to fly indoors and around people. With a naked GoPro or the SMO 4k you can capture some great stabilized footage. In this guide I'll show you..
