Aeroscout (Fly like you STOL it) pan & tilt v2

Update! I had the pan and tilt gimbal installed but hadn't had it configured. I finally redid all my aux modes (7 of them currently) to occupy 2 channels and set the pan and tilt on channels 7 & 8 (Crossfire is set to 8 channel mode). I'm using the sliders right now for my pan and tilt but have already built an arduino head tracker, I just need to get the 3d printed case for it to mount on my goggles and then calibrate it and I'll be good to go! I upgraded the ESC to an iflight succex-e 45a I had laying around so I could run 4s and with a 4s 3000mah pack I flew around 26 minutes (landed at 3.7v). I also set a channel override switch on my radio to lock the gimbal straight if I don't want it moving around for things like maybe landing. also am using a velcro strap to keep the front hatch from popping off in a roll or high wind.

I have put fpv on cars and planes, and after crashing all my planes I realized I needed a trainer. I flew this LOS a bunch of times and realized I should put a flight controller and fpv in it. And then I realized I didn't know how to set up these flight controllers. the first time I had set it up, flying it was like riding a mechanical bull. And I crashed and broke the first one. Shout out to Asurion warranty, they actually paid out after I sent them the old plane. With the new one, I ripped out the Spectrum receiver and replaced it with a Matek 765-wing and was going to fly it as is but I remembered I have this head track gimbal mount I ordered so I stuck it on there. I need to find my head tracker and set up the end points so I just flew it fixed today. I need some extensions for the camera servos too. I probably should strap the battery cover down also because the air unit is zip tied underneath it. Flew it in really windy conditions and didn't crash in manual mode! Also it's fun to drive it around like an RC trike.

I just bought the Aeroscout. Do I need to upgrade the ESC before running 4s batteries?

I did not run 4s on the stock esc. I used a blheli_32 2-6s 40a iflight stick esc I had laying around.

Have you ever tried flite test? If not have a look at the ft scout. You can build the airframe for 3-4$ and a couple of hours

Yeah haha I have at least 4 flite test speed build kits sitting in the corner unbuilt. For some reason it's difficult for me to get motivated to build them. I'm trying to get some friends together to build some scouts so we can put the VAS air combat system on them. I saw this plane in a rotor riot video and it had good reviews so I picked it up.

Yeah they are super fun. Someone on the forum is building a gigantic one with a 58inch wingspan

AirbladeUAV has done it again and this time they've brought long range to the 5" class! Based on the popular Transformer Mini, the new Transformer 5" Ultralight adopts a lot of the same design philosophies with larger props and more payload capacity. It can fly upwards of 20 minutes on a 4 cell Li-Ion battery pack and in ideal conditions it's got a range of over 4 to 5 miles. In this guide I'll walk..

With the release of the DJI FPV Drone cinematic FPV has become a lot more accessible, but you certainly don't want to crash a $750 drone! The QAV-CINE Freybott is a compact, lightweight cinematic FPV drone that can take a hit and keep going. It's a lot safer to fly indoors and around people. With a naked GoPro or the SMO 4k you can capture some great stabilized footage. In this guide I'll show you..
