HDzero Rekon 7"
My first build, my first iNav quad, my first 7", and my 2nd long range quad!
I wanted to build something I didn't have in my fleet yet, which led me to a 7" mountain surfer (even though I live in the flattest country on earth). And I wanted to build it without any compromise.
When the HDzero freestyle VTX came out, it looked te be the perfect match to explore and enjoy the view, so that part was a no-brainer.
Apart from that I took a lot of inspiration from Falconrad FPVs build, but I considered his frame to be just too heavy, so I went with the Rekon 7 instead..
The Rekon 7 BNF was pretty nice in my opinion, but I do think it can be much improved, and it doens't come with HDzero (get on it Dave C!). I didn't like the side mounted vertical immortal T for instance as it's bound to break, so I went with TrueRCs bardpole antenna instead. When the TBS nano diversity pro comes out, I will put that in and add a front mounted immortal T, in the mean time, I will have the nano pro RX in there instead (the only compromise I've made for now).
Finally, instead of a 'normal' self-powered buzzer, I put in a Vifly GPS-mate, in order to get a satellite lock before iI even plug in my battery.
I've made a tube and an SMA version of the GPS mount that facilitate the bardpole antenna, which can be found here: https://www.thingiverse.com/thing:5279991

AirbladeUAV has done it again and this time they've brought long range to the 5" class! Based on the popular Transformer Mini, the new Transformer 5" Ultralight adopts a lot of the same design philosophies with larger props and more payload capacity. It can fly upwards of 20 minutes on a 4 cell Li-Ion battery pack and in ideal conditions it's got a range of over 4 to 5 miles. In this guide I'll walk..

The QAV-CINE Freybott is a compact, lightweight cinematic FPV drone that can take a hit and keep going. It's a lot safer to fly indoors and around people. With a naked GoPro or the SMO 4k you can capture some great stabilized footage. In this guide I'll show you..
