This RTF 5" from TCMMRC cost less than $90 including tax and shipping BUT... spoiler, the experience was horrible

  1. They shipped different version of their super budget quad because one I ordered was out of stock, but were nice enough to include these better, hollow shaft 2306 motors which come with the TCMMRC UR26 I originally ordered.
  2. I ordered cheap ultra wide GoPro lens with M12 thread, because these super cheap cameras tends to have around 10° of FOV... Overfrequency does come with this smaller camera, which has M8 thread. Wide angle M8 lens cost as much as for example caddx Ant camera, so it more woth it to swap the whole camera...
  3. FIRE... almost everything was faulty, after soldering on 2306 motors, I've noticed that one of them barely spins - bearings were already f*. After lubing them, after roughly 30s of hover test in a room, 3 fets on ESC exploded. Also VTX was faulty from factory - image went off during flips or punch outs, 10V output for VTX on FC worked for about 5 minutes before dying, had to solder VTX straight to the bat+ as it takes 7-24V, it may be the cause of the VTX acting weirdly, but I can't use the 10V anymore so...
  4. Had to do some cruisal changes to make the quad usable, designed lot of TPU parts as well... link for thingiverse included here
  5. Swapped the original pieces of wrinkled and chopped plastic for actuall props (HQ J37)
So the quad cost me a lot of time and even after all that, who knows which thing will catch on fire next time, even after all the necessary modifications i did to it.
I would say that all the parts on this quad are crap, not a single thing worth harvesting from it (:

Would i recommend it ? definitely NOT especially to begginers ! I would quit the hobby immediately, if this was my first drone experience.
Why ? Because I was curious how good can be a whole RTF quad, which costs the same as set of motors for 5".

AirbladeUAV has done it again and this time they've brought long range to the 5" class! Based on the popular Transformer Mini, the new Transformer 5" Ultralight adopts a lot of the same design philosophies with larger props and more payload capacity. It can fly upwards of 20 minutes on a 4 cell Li-Ion battery pack and in ideal conditions it's got a range of over 4 to 5 miles. In this guide I'll walk..

With the release of the DJI FPV Drone cinematic FPV has become a lot more accessible, but you certainly don't want to crash a $750 drone! The QAV-CINE Freybott is a compact, lightweight cinematic FPV drone that can take a hit and keep going. It's a lot safer to fly indoors and around people. With a naked GoPro or the SMO 4k you can capture some great stabilized footage. In this guide I'll show you..
