I am facinated with weird and unorthodox multirotor designs, so as soon as I saw this 2inch overlapping hex frame by Quattrovolante I immediately ordered it I have never seen anyone build out this frame apart from the build shown on the website. I decided to copy the electronics and motors of the flywoo firerly hex as it is only 6in1 aio I know of, and I knew the motors would work well as I saw a 2inch hex conversion of a flywoo hes which flew great. Only other difference is the camera which is a runcam of some sort which I had laying around. The reason for the one mismatched motor is that when I ordered 6 motors, one came faulty. I have ordered 2 more but I will probably keep the happymodel one on there as it is the same size and KV. I had to cut the motor mount sections of a 1.5mm frame in order to use as spacers to stop the props from hitting eachother. Assembly of the frame was not hard, but it was a little finnimg and many screws had to be screwed in. I swapped out most of the included nylon standoffs with some metal ones due to durability and aesthetic reasons. The flight performance is unreal, probably my favorite micro to fly, it has incredible power and flingability for it's tiny size due to the 6 motors and 4s battery. It is super smooth once I tuned it and handles cornering really well, probably because of the extra motors. The prop overlap is only very slight so it doesn't really affect perfomance. Durability has also been good too, I have had a few hard crashes and the only break was the original circular polarised antenna, which I am temporarily replacing with a whip until I order more. I am also going to put in an expressLRS ep2 reciever once it arrives. Would definitely reccomend checking this frame out if lyou want something incredibly unique that also perfoms well. Next up on my build list is a 3inch "bone drone" inspired by Rotor Riot, I have got the frame from banggood and motors but just need to get a stack.

AirbladeUAV has done it again and this time they've brought long range to the 5" class! Based on the popular Transformer Mini, the new Transformer 5" Ultralight adopts a lot of the same design philosophies with larger props and more payload capacity. It can fly upwards of 20 minutes on a 4 cell Li-Ion battery pack and in ideal conditions it's got a range of over 4 to 5 miles. In this guide I'll walk..

With the release of the DJI FPV Drone cinematic FPV has become a lot more accessible, but you certainly don't want to crash a $750 drone! The QAV-CINE Freybott is a compact, lightweight cinematic FPV drone that can take a hit and keep going. It's a lot safer to fly indoors and around people. With a naked GoPro or the SMO 4k you can capture some great stabilized footage. In this guide I'll show you..
