This quad is a bit special in terms of components. Not really mainstream, have picked rather niche products. In the end it has become really enjoyable to fly. A great freestyle fun-machine despite the racing frame.
The frame is from Czech Republic, from a firm called Rotorama. They have their own racing team and develop pretty amazing (and light) frames. This is a frame called Samurai, which exists in different variants.
Have used 4" arms, that had to be modified due to my motor choice. FPV Cycle 16 mm motors, which are amazingly notchy and in Imperial colour scheme look mindblowingly good in the flesh. They have 9 mm hole pattern, which the frame is made for 12 mm hole pattern. Nothing a nice steel drill bit cannot solve, though...
Have gone FETtec on the stack, which is acutally an AIO, the 35A one. Amazing board. Great ESC, great FC, the OSD is just lovely with the graphical overlay. You can see your stick inputs without a stick cam, just through the OSD.
For the camera I have opted for a RunCam Racer 5. It has amazing picture. The DVR does not do justice for it, in the goggles you can see everything.
Have gone for the TBS Sixty9, interesting proposition.
The quad flies almost like a 5", however the mass is much lower. Weighs just under 250g with battery, so it is a "toy" in the country where I live. I still have great respect for it, it flies not at all like a toy :-)

AirbladeUAV has done it again and this time they've brought long range to the 5" class! Based on the popular Transformer Mini, the new Transformer 5" Ultralight adopts a lot of the same design philosophies with larger props and more payload capacity. It can fly upwards of 20 minutes on a 4 cell Li-Ion battery pack and in ideal conditions it's got a range of over 4 to 5 miles. In this guide I'll walk..

The QAV-CINE Freybott is a compact, lightweight cinematic FPV drone that can take a hit and keep going. It's a lot safer to fly indoors and around people. With a naked GoPro or the SMO 4k you can capture some great stabilized footage. In this guide I'll show you..
