Here is a... specimen... that i built entirely out of previously useless spare parts and junk I had laying around. I have taken it for a quick spin out the front and it flies suprisingly well. It is using some random 12a AIO board which I previously thought was dead, however it was just being bricked by a dead VTX. The motors and base of the frame are from two happymodel mantis85s which were the quads I started off with over 3 years ago. I decided to build the thing upside down for two reasons, one it looks stupid/kinda cool at the same time and two becasue 3 of the motors are missing circlips (I took them off to repair other motors) meaning if they were pulling instead of pushing the whole bell would fly off. The base frame plate only had 16mm mounting so I cut up a broken 3inch frame I had laying around in order to create a 16mm to 25mm mount. The bottom plate (what used to be a top plate) was super thin so I reinforced it by doubling a flywoo firefly top plate on top of it. The vtx is some random tiny thing (250mW maybe?) I got out of a pile and the camera is a Caddx ant which had broken screw holes. Luckily I was able to mount this camera with the Mantis85 frame mount, meaning the side screw holes were not needed. Since so much cutting and drilling had to be done to make this work I'm not gonna bother listing all parts, plus I dont even know what some of them are.

AirbladeUAV has done it again and this time they've brought long range to the 5" class! Based on the popular Transformer Mini, the new Transformer 5" Ultralight adopts a lot of the same design philosophies with larger props and more payload capacity. It can fly upwards of 20 minutes on a 4 cell Li-Ion battery pack and in ideal conditions it's got a range of over 4 to 5 miles. In this guide I'll walk..

With the release of the DJI FPV Drone cinematic FPV has become a lot more accessible, but you certainly don't want to crash a $750 drone! The QAV-CINE Freybott is a compact, lightweight cinematic FPV drone that can take a hit and keep going. It's a lot safer to fly indoors and around people. With a naked GoPro or the SMO 4k you can capture some great stabilized footage. In this guide I'll show you..
